Merry Christmas From Heaven

I still hear the songs

I still see the light

I still feel your love

on cold wintery nights

I still share your hopes

and all of your cares

I'll even remind you

to please say your prayers

I just want to tell you

you still make me proud

You stand head and shoulders

above all the crowd

Keep trying each moment

to stay in his Grace

I came here before you

to help set your place

You don't have to be

perfect all of the time

He forgives you the slip

If you continue the climb

To my family and friends

please be thankful today

I'm still close beside you

In a new special way

I love you all dearly

now don't shed a tear

Cause I'm spending my Christmas

With Jesus this year

Here is one that I just did a couple of weeks ago for the funeral of a dear friend of the family..... I found it comforting to write..... Holidays are very hard when someone you love is missing. Especially the first one.

Don't Weep For Me

Don't weep for me my loved ones, for I'm only going home.

It's the day I've longed and prayed for and my work on earth is done.

The Door to Heaven opened and the angels took me through,

And I'm going to see my Jesus , and we'll wait right here for you.

The road was sometimes rocky and the way was sometimes steep.

I'm thankful that it's over and I peacefully can sleep.

Don't cry because I'm missing from the places that you meet.

Rejoice for me in knowing that I sit a Jesus feet.

Remember that I loved you tho I didn't often say,

You all were in my mind and heart when I knelt down to pray.

And so my friends, my bretheren, my children and my wife,

Be strong in faith and perservere, till endless glorious Life.

For Uncle Alfred as I think he would have said it.

Thanks for the memories. Lyn

OH THAT DID BRING TEARS! I lost my daddy Dec 15th, 2003 and that is perfectly Daddy. I think I'll print it out pretty for Mom as she'll be here for the holiday. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Thank You

John Mooney wrote "Merry Christmas From Heaven" in 1989, after the death of his mother. His only intention was to present it to his family that year at Christmas. He knew it was going to be a very difficult holiday season without her. The words, and the comfort he and his family needed, came to him after a prayer one night.

Thank you for that. I didn't know who had written it.

THis is my favorite and has been for years.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glint on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,

I am the swift, uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circling flight.

I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.

I am not there, I do not sleep.

(Do not stand at my grave and cry.

I am not there, I did not die!)

Apparently there is still a debate as to who actually wrote it. If you do a google search you will find two different people getting acknowledgment and the story of why its not known for sure.
