Just jumping off and starting a new crafting thread for 2025. I have nothing new to share, yet; but hopefully will after I get my paperwork done for the taxman.
Happy New Year!
Happy Crafting!

I am repairing a teddy bear. It belonged to my son; it's about 40 years old. The music box stopped working. He does not want the bear, so I thought I'd try my hand at repairing it. So far I have taken all the shredded paper stuffing out of it, turned it inside out and washed it. I washed it by soaking in Ivory. Very dirty! A few repairs, which I did using pantyhose. The eyes were crystalized and disintegrated so I put in new eyes. I'm stuffing it with raw cotton. Have to wait for the new music box to arrive to finish him. It's been rather fun, and I've learned a lot. He was in inexpensive bear (we hadn't much money and there were no doting grandparents to gift Gund or Stief). I gave him a new mouth.
These pictures show the kind of stuffing in him, and turned inside out to have repairs.

There is something special about old teddy bears. He is a very worthwhile project, and looks well loved, after all, little kids never read labels. 😍 Love to see him when you are finished!

You are so crafty!

The bear finished. The music box is so rigid inside; I can see why most cuddle-bears do not have one. I sort of wished I had left it out and maybe used a growler instead. But, he is just for display now so I guess it does not matter. I used my raw cotton for stuffing.
I wanted to make his nose more plump but the fabric was too fragile to stuff firmly. Anyway, he is whole and clean now.

I enjoy crafting(and finally feel brave enough) so I thought I'd share this post and another, with a few of the things I've made. These are Christmas crafts I made for 2024, I had so much fun making them and the wreath is currently hanging on my front door.

Here's the other promised post with some non-Christmas items, I've made at random.

I'm always amazed by how much talent we have here in a horse related group. I haven't done any painting in a while, but I have something I'm thinking about.
