Does anyone remember the hoky old Andy Williams song, *I think it was called) "Little Girl?"

"Hey, little girl,

Comb your hair, fix your makeup,

Soon he will open the door

...yada yada yada

Don't send him off

with your hair up in curlers,

you may not see him again!"

I knew, even before first grade, that this wasn't for me! I told my mother-in-law one time that Keith married me for sex and sax, not sox...

...however...

Read this article again, but instead of aiming it at the wife, imagine it's directed at BOTH OF YOU. Pamper and cater to each other...how wonderful it would be!

(And, to be honest, Keith often does things like this for me...what a sweetie!)

Well, hmm, I wonder if I'm helping or hindering the stereotype?

: I like to be fresly showerd and have clean nice clothes when my boyfriend comes home.... so I'll look nice while HE cooks ME dinner.

If I had a hubby tell me that my place was the kitchen and his was the couch... well, I'd settle him on that couch with a pillow and blanket, cause thats where he'd be sleeping for the next 6 months. And he'd get a map to the fridge and a cookbook to read while he thinks about what he's done. :bgrin

I actually had a husband that thought that way...He and I both worked, but in his opinion, I was supposed to clean the house, do the shopping, take care of the animals, and cook the food. His reasoning was that he made more money than I did. :new_shocked: When I became a horse trainer, and he was also self employed, I made more money than he did. He still thought I should do all the housework! And he worked IN our home! :new_2gunsfiring_v1: You can imagine how far he got with that one!

It's okay though, he left me for a younger woman...I guess she was more gullible than I was.

Now I have Kris, and he and I are true partners. He cooks better than I do, and we work best together. I love it.

: I am a lucky woman!

Oh my I would have been burned at the stake, tarred and feathered if I was a wife in 1955. The poor sum'itch would have starved, had serious holes in his socks, and no kids LOLOLOL.

No wonder I've been divorced once already!!! Geesh now it should read "Husband knows how to stay alive" in Kim's house.

I think the best line I ever said was "Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out" and "Don't forget your designer set of Glad Bag Luggage"

Heehee I've always wondered what kind of scarlet, shunned, heretic woman I would have been if I had been born in the past (way past). Too independant I am..
