Hey! I have decided to spend the extra money in a few months and get one of my small AMHR's registered AMHA, I was just wondering who does the inspection? Where do you find them? Or does AMHA automatically send someone?? I am in Ripley,TN so who would be closest? Any tips? THANKS-Sarah

You need to contact AMHA, sending them the required hardship fees and DNA fees and current photos of the horse along with a hardship application, and they will set things up to send the nearest director/past director to you to do the inspection. You must pay the inspector their fees for going to your place to do that.

Ok, thanks Mona! I was also wondering, can there not be one at an AMHA show to inspect them, or do they just not do that??? In a couple months I'll send all the rest out... thanks for the reply!

Sorry, that one I really don't know, but I think if I remember correctly, you can. It doesn't matter where the inspection takes place, as long as it is a director/past director that does the actual inspection.

Mona is correct. Either a current director or a past director can do the inspection. It can take place at a mutally agreed upon location. Either your farm, a show or somewhere in between.

But AMHA does contact and send forms to the director so you need to contact AMHA first.

Sarah,

I have a mare here that needs to be hardshipped AMHA as well. There isn't a director close to us at all. And just because there will be an AMHA show in TN, doesn't necessarily mean there will be a director there.

I plan on taking my mare up to Jody's in Ohio sometime this coming year.
