OK, I am just now getting involved in the AMHA registry, I was wondering what exactly a ROM is, how do you earn it? Also, how do you earn Honor Roll? Just two terms I seen in A, that R doesn't have, so thought I'd ask the question :bgrin , thanks in advance-Sarah

I am at work and don't have time right now, but I suggest that you go to the AMHA rulebook on the website and read up on the awards.

Homor Role is based on show points earned between Jan 1 and December 31. There is a running total of the top 10% carried on the show report page of the AMHA website. This award is automatically awarded. The ROM is based on lifetime points in a specific area. Until the new computer system takes over you need to apply for the award. Details of points needed etc are in the rule book which is on-line on the Webpage.

ROM is Register of Merit and your horse earns that by accumulating 20 points or more in one performance event. They don't give ROM's for halter.

There is also a Superior Event award that comes with 75 points in one event and they do give that in halter. Only 45 of those points can be earned as a 2 year old or younger.

There is also an AMHA Championship.

Honor Roll is the accumulation of points for year end awards. The highest total points wins a beautiful belt buckle with the class name on it. The others in top ten receive a certificate. Honor Roll points are permanent on a horses record but for year end awards they are started over each year.

All of these awards are available in Open, Amateur and Youth.

:aktion033: Oh, ok!!! Thanks, wish my computer would open the rulebook, its not for some reason! I believe I read somewhere where you can earn it for Get of Sire, or Produce of Dam to? (ROM)

thanks again!!

Here is the content of the rule book:
