I'm not sure, because what I read about it in the Journal wasn't specific about transfers versus new registration papers being applied for. I'll try calling AMHR today when they open but I thought someone just might know the answer here. I'm not crazy about going out in the cold today to take pictures, but I will if I have to and I have some papers that need to be updated.

I have a transfer to do today too.........I didn't find anything on the web site about needing pics for transfers so I'll watch on here and see what you find out.

Thanks for asking my question! :saludando:

I have called the office 2 days in a row- once an hour and keep getting a busy signal. I need to know for transfers also.

If someone gets through and gets an answer- PLEASE post it here! I will keep checking back.

When I talked to the office at the end of November they told me "YES, YOU WILL NEED TO SEND PICTURES WITH ANY TRANSACTION CONCERNING PAPERS" They need one picture of each side, one of the rear and I believe only one of the face. I also believe that the mini's legs need to be off set and not squared.

Hope this helps! :saludando:

I called the office Tuesday to find out as the website didn't say. Any paperwork requiring them to print new papers MUST have photos. I even have to get photos of a broodmare I leased to a friend to do a lease termination!

My friend sent in some paperwork in early Dec, she jsut got her stuff back, they processed 1 foal registration back completed, but the rest of her papers (I think it was a lease termination, temp to perm and a transfer) were sent back for photos? I don't understand why they accepted some of her paperwork without but the rest needed them.

I know I will be spending my Saturday taking photos as a I have a bunch of paperwork to get done.

There is an article in the August 2006 Journal that tells you how and what photos to take. I sent in an update from temporary to permanent in December and sent pictures and the papers came back this week without them. It does say that is was to start in January 2007 but I figured with it being so close to that they would send them back with pictures anyway?

ok, just to be on the safe side I guess I'm heading back out for pics.......in 40 mph wind! LOL Hope they aren't blurry!

Yes, now that the New Year has arrived, we need to send in photos only for any new paperwork that we send in, just remember Lori, if it was money they wanted we would not want them to start earlier.

Hello

Me again !! :new_shocked: LOL!! Just spoke with the office and YES YOU DO NEED TO SEND IN PICTURES WITH ANY REGISTRATION WORK.

Now as far as to why the pictures are not getting on the transfer work , The person I needed to talk to was at some meetings so could not find out.

One thing that could be , is I know last week they were having a problem with program that puts the pictures on the papers, it was distorting the pictures , and also lots of them were covering up the names of the horses.

Now I do not know if that is the reason , JUST saying it could be !!! Again Lets give them time to work this out. It could be instead of holding up your paperwork for who knows , they are just trying to get it out...I will work on finding all of you a answer .

But in the meantime continue to send pictures in with your work..

I sent in my registration stuff in Dec. also, to avoid having to do pictures. I did send pics our to get a color change on my filly and said I was told you can use the new reg. papers with pics if I send them. I don't know if they will do it but hey its worth a shot right. Don't have my paperwork back, but I do hope I don't need pictures for them since I sent them out in Dec. like someone else did but she needs pics now, thats not right lol.

If anyone receives their paperwork with the new registration papers can you please share with us, I'm dying to see what they look like lol.

Eeek, I didn;t realise you would need them for transfers too.

Does anyone know: can you use printouts from a printer for the pictures or do they have to be actual 35mm type prints? I don't even have a 35mm camera any more so I am wondering if I can just use my digital and printer or if I need to run to walmart.

Yes you can use the prints from your computer as long as you use PHOTO PAPER..

Oh, and while we're on the topic, does anyone know how much a transfer costs when it is late? It used to be $15 plus $5 for each additional month late not to exceed $100. But when i was on the website it said something about it being $15 and only $25 if it was late...is this right? Did it change? I emailed AMHR about a month ago and i never heard back from them...

Thanks

Thanks Belinda!

I'm really glad to see this picture requirement as I've had some 'questionable' papers before. I know, I know. Pictures don't solve ALL identification issues, but they are sure a step in the right direction IMO

I agree Charlotte. I wonder if the photos sent in so far then are being kept on file for their records, just in case of any questions or ID issues in the future.
