I was talking to my niece today and we were wondering if there were any/many AMHR shows in say, Northern CA, SO OR, Nevada or Utah. We were also wondering what the average cost for these shows was. We are just getting to the point that we can not afford the AMHA show that is in our area. I know gas is going to be a factor in going to another show. But, $40 a class for being a non member of the club we show with for AMHA is just too much in this economy. If we do not find something cheaper we won't get to show this year.

Go to www.shetlandminiature.com, then click on shows it may also say events I can't remember it is either one or the other. You will find AMHR shows listed in your area. Of souse I was assuming you are asking for mini breed shows, as for local shows, open ones that is you might try typing in 4-H clubs for your area, someone from them will be able to help. Have fun showing.

I don't know the area but if you check on AMHR (I think this will work)

http://www.shetlandmini.com/images/stories/documents/CB/ShSch/shsch34.pdf you should find the shows listed. Then do a search on Google or whatever for the show name and you may find them on a website. That's what I do for my area shows. I know I'm getting really antsy waiting as they don't put the shows on a website until they are approved - they don't get approved until all the (i)s are dotted and ((t)s crossed and the insurance in place.

There is a GREAT ASPC/AMHR/ASPR Show in Eugene, Oregon on April 29-May 1, 2011. It's the OHC Spring Fling. It is a triple judges show (Belinda Bagby, Rob Crater, Jim Curry) in one of the best horse show facilities in the US. Information on stalls, class lists, costs, etc. can be found on the Oregon Horse Center Website. If you have any other questions, you may PM me or give me a call at 503-510-0990. Hope to see you there.

Do you know the cost of that show? Classes and stalls? My horses are all 31"-34" we like to show. It's just the cost is getting out of hand with everything else going up.

Mark it's not on the website yet or they have a broken link. I got to the Horse Center page but the link to the Spring Fling says "page cannot be found".

I spoke to the Oregon Horse Center this morning and let them know the link wasn't working. They are now aware of the problem and said they will have it fixed today.
