This picture was in the latest Brayer magazine. I was going to decopauge it on a piece of wood I had but hubby suggested I burn it instead. This is it before I stain it or varnish it. The wood is 8"x12".

I do woodburning well I have in the past and that is wonderful sooo much work but isnt it fun.

You did good! It is really detailed. I didn't realize that you could do colors when you woodburn. I really like how you made the parts blue.

:new_shocked: Exquisite Shawna! You could do that for a living! NO need to go out and work and have all that pain. Just advertise you do this from photos and my guess is, with how many 1000s of mini and large horse folks, you'll have more work than time to do it in.

Yep, I'm a woodburner too. However I only have time for it in the winter. I did some reinboards earlier this year. One for Ginia on the forum.......hers turned out so well I had to upgrade mine. You did a wonderful job on the shading thats the HARDEST part.

: . You really did a great job on it. I have never done woodburning, but would love to give it a try sometime. Corinne

Thanks for the compliments! I love doing stuff like this. I used to draw all the time but just don't take the time anymore. This one just "hit me". It took about 4 hours to complete. VERY tedious with the hair but I'm pleased with it.

Corrine.......when's your birthday?

The harness is actually a dark black, just looks blue with the flash. The colors come from different tips and the amount of time you burn it.

This is another piece I did for hubby. He is a SASS shooter and made this box.

Nice- I bought the tools to do it but can't seem to get to it. Guess I'm thinking it is too hard.

Thats a beautiful piece!!! I've woodburned in the past and altho I have not done it in a few years I have a few pieces I've done and given as gifts. My favorite was a rooster on a fence post. I also use the woodburning pencils to give some color to the details.

I bet Dave loves his picture. Dang it--your really good at this woodburning! Still think it needs to be hanging in my family room... :bgrin
