She is very bold and confident. Talkative and active. Report from the vet... a strong, healthy filly!
Phew....I will start another topic on the delivery and how things progressed/what I saw/what I did since there has been some interest in the red bag delivery.
We have one blue eye and one dark eye... not sure where the blue eye came from, neither parent has one...anyone know how that happens? I am guessing that is a sign that she may carry overo as well as tobiano.
I have noticed over the years that 5 of the 6 horses that I had that tested homozygous for tobiano had one blue eye. All of them had a little bit of facial white, so who knows, maybe it was just splash. Just something that I noticed. None of them produced blue eyes or produced any loud splash offspring. One was a stallion that I sold to Ginny of Blueridge miniature horses. He has sired a lot of foals and none with blue eyes (unless Ginny had some) and none that were splash-unless you count the facial white.
Are both sire and dam pinto? Maybe you could test her to see if she is homozygous for tobiano
Wow......congrats........ I am sure it was scary dealing with the red bag delivery, but boy oh boy, she is something to look at isn't she?...... so happy it all turned out well for you!!
