I have always banded my boys the day they were born. They do not react to it at all, walk normal and no crying. Within a week the balls have shrivled up and fallen off and the little boy never notices.

Okay, trying to get my guys mac to behave is proving difficult, but lots more pic's coming!

Where do I Get these bands? Order them online? And said tool?

He's doing Much Much better

He's finally figured out I'm not trying to kill him, and looks for his bottle and nurses really well. He's on drugs for a few days, but asides that, he's good to go!

Forgot to mention, we have been feeding him on the hour every hour at All hours, and now are slowing down to every 2 1/2 hours. I'm terrified of him just up and crashing, so was trying to not wait for him to get hungary.

Tomorrow we are bringing my one girl (the tan) that we are selling with us to the horse show, so hopefully she'll have a new family by tomorrow! (She won't be leaving just yet, I'd like her to stay home at least a good two weeks and wean her onto a bottle, makes me feel better!)

This is the most fun I've had since my last ones were little a few years ago. I'm excited that by winter we'll have two does kidding! Yipieee!

Oh please be careful about bringing your babies out and about. 1 they need to eat about every 2 hours. Specially at such a younge age, and 2 you really don't want to risk taking such a younge baby out and around livestock. Only knows what she could contract. Its like a puppy, you don't bring an 8 week old puppy to a dog park and let it run around with strange dogs until its had all its shot/vaccinations/worming. etc.. Make sure your potential buyer has other goats or is going to buy another one. Goats need companionship, they are herd animals. I've never sold a lone goat unless I knew they had other smaller goats to keep as companions. Even then I asked the ages and if they were going to pick another quiet one and close them off from the rest of the herd. I hate seeing those new babies get picked on.

Glad to know your baby boy is doing much better. We always bottle fed our babies every 2 hours and slowly increased the time as they got older. I bought my banders from our local feed store. They had the bands and everything. You could try Hoegger Supply for the castrating tool and bands. I banded my boys at 8 weeks. They are sexually matured at 7 weeks, but I never found them really "able" at that time. So 8 weeks is when they can leave the nest so thats when I would say good bye to their boys. lol
