beginning of the baby diary...pics

arriving around 6/4/08 . I had an ultra sound today and the tech said 95% girl .The baby is doing great ,I have to see high risk docs as all my babies have been 2 to 7 weeks early ..I go for another appointment next wednesday. I am 17 wks 2 days ....my mares will not be the only ones expecting this year...lol on to the pics . Any baby names girl or boy would be appreciated I like odd names..I will keep everyone updated like a baby diary after my appointments....

Seriously, I find Kate to be such a beautiful, timeless name. Also Emmeleth is one from an Anne Rice novel that is pretty too.

I have 2 nieces with odd names, Raesha (Raysha) and NeShea (NaShay).

I like Rachel, Rebecca, Sara (lots of different spellings). I just read an article about 3 little girls and one was named Tyreney. If we had ever had a little girl (no kids here!!!!) we would have named her Citori. There is also Rayne.........

Thank you everyone and keep the names coming girl and boy as we all know sometimes the ultrasounds are not 100% ..I will update everyone as we go , our new little forum member will have quite a few ultrasounds from what doc said cause i am high risk having other preemies , I just hope and pray that she stays in until closer to her due date as my last was 5 weeks early and had to be on a ventilator for 18 days..He will be 5 in july and started showing minis last summer you would never know that he was early..

i have always liked Shaelynn or even just Shae, knew a little girl named Teara years ago, there was a girl in my Hilary's preschool class (she is now almost 17) whose name was Jennica, her parents couldn't decide between Jessica and Jennifer lol... i always thought that was interesting and not TOO weird...

if my next filly out of my Paint Mare is a girl, i am going to call her Tielle (pronounced kinda like Danielle) long story short Tiger Lily = T.L. = Tielle but we wouldn't mind sharing

no matter what name you choose, congratulations on your little bundle of joy and you have my prayers that s/he stays where s/he belongs until it is safe to come out!

Congratulations Melanie! What a beautiful profile! Isn't it wonderful to be able to get a glimpse of this tiny miracle! Wow! What a blessing! I wish you lived a lot closer; I'd babysit.

As for names, I love biblical names. I've found that names that are unique often get shortened. Some folks just don't want to learn how to pronounce a name and say they can't pronounce it. But, you get the honor of deciding. There are a lot of great names mentioned already. Just know that we'll be praying for you, the baby, your other children, and your dear father. I look forward to seeing more pictures.

Congrats on the new girl! A website I use a lot to look up names is behindthename. You can look names up by meaning, origin, you name it. There's even a random name generator where you can pick the language of origin or have that be random too. Here's some examples of what that will come up with:

Boy - Jockie Iulian, Priam Cameron, Kazuki Themistocles

Girl - Isabella Cláudia (I actually like that one), Christa Sláine (not bad), Jewel Athenais (that's kind of neat too)

As you can see, it comes up with all kinds of things. Then you can click on the name to look up what it means and stuff.
