I've posted about Bonobos before so I don't expect many if any responses this time around lol. But I'll post anyhow because they're cute and they need people to be aware of them for their future survival

Bonobos are our closest living relatives. They share 98.7% of the DNA we carry!!!! They are the less known of the Great Apes but resemble us more than Chimps do. They're happy to walk upright, live in peace loving matriarchal groups. They live in just one area in Africa - the same place the human race evolved. When the Congo river formed some 1.5 million years ago they were cut off from the Chimps and have remained there ever since. Chimps, Bonobos and us share the same common ancestor

Well he or she is very cute, and his or her hair kind of looks like mine when I get up in the morning, but the resemblance stops there thankfully!

HAHAHA, apparently they all have that coif, parted neatly in the middle...yeah, I share that trait too before I've had my morning coffee *grin*.

I love Bonobos. They're adorable. Another interesting thing about them is that there is very little aggression within family units; one reason for this is that they are very "loving" towards each other; stress is relieved through copious amounts of sexual contact

.

I'd much rather recognize the loving, non-aggressive Bonobos as relatives than many supposed human beings.

All the responses on this thread are very entertaining! OK they also have bad hair days, are adorable, have lots of sex and are more human then humans. I've never met one, but what the hay, maybe someday! Talk about a monkeys uncle. Funny thread I love it.

Apparently they have sex all day long with anyone willing..hetero, ****, even adults with young 'uns. Unlike humans you get it then dinner and not the other way round lol! Unlike the other great apes Bonobo society revolves around the females not the males. They're very peaceful (prolly too tired to fight after all the s*x lol) and extremely smart.

....you know if they had access to some nice Chardonnay it may not be a bad place to hang out lol
