Wondering if anyone has driven a 3 abreast setup? @BSharpRanch maybe? You're always doing fun things.

I got a cart (had to drive to Texas again, that's twice I made a 3 day road trip of 2400 miles last year) that has a setup for single, team, and 3 abreast. I'm mostly curious about harnessing and line placement. I've found some info online and it's been really helpful but it's not the same as having a discussion with someone. Can't wait to give it a go this winter. I'm thinking we'll get Candace, Blue, and Perry or Wally. We'll ground drive a few combos and see who works well and in what order.462488894_8652793654740838_390912816048044485_n.jpg

Oh what a pretty vehicle!! What size animal is it normally driven with? Tell us how driving 3-abreast goes, or even unicorn! You're so much more brave than I am. I've only taken the lines on a pair once (because it was about to be a wreck if I didn't!) and it's just not for me. I like one. I'm excited for you though!!

I love driving a pair. I feel like they enjoy working with a companion and are less spooky in pairs. I wish I could pair Clementine with someone but she's so stinking mean. It would be good for her to have a calm teammate. Maybe Wally next summer....

It's for a 36-40" mini/pony. The gal that had it has shetlands and they were just a little too big for it. Most of mine are 36"-38" so it is a perfect fit for my group. Headed down south in Feb to give it a go.

this looks awesome. Until my lesson I'd only ever driven Belgian work horses in a pair. Driving one horse was certainly different but I enjoyed it. I like watching multi horse hitches though, the minis with the chariots were adorable. It's been a long time since I've gone looking for three horse hitches though.

See I knew you would have done this! I have a set of matching pairs harnesses but then just a couple random harnesses. I'm trying to decide if I can make one of those work with some twine on the collar since I don't have D rings on it for the pole straps...

@BSharpRanch, Your videos are very impressive. I'm curious if you can tell if they like driving together or separate more than the other?
Thank you, I'm just having fun!

Some of my horses absolutely love being a team player and a couple hate being part of the herd.
Just a personal thing.
