I'm thinking about starting a book club on here where we would pick a monthly book, forum members would have a month to read it, and then we could discuss it. Would others be interested in doing this?

People could give book suggestions (genre would differ by month), then we would take a vote to pick which one to read as a group.

I would really enjoy it

Yay! So sometime in the next week or two, we'll take a vote on the genre. Then everyone can submit recommendations for books in that catagory, and we'll have a poll to determine the winner. I'm thinking our first book of the month will be in December.

I hope to have contests on here every now and then if we get enough people involved, along with a couple other possible ideas. If any of you have any ideas or suggestions to make this forum better, I'd love to hear them!

Count me in too. I prefer reading to watching tv. Thank you for starting this part of the forum. Wonderful idea!

For those who are interested, how long do you anticipate it will take you to start and finish a book? I'd like to allow enough time for those who buy books online to receive them in the mail, and to be able to read them. Does a month to order and read a book sound right? Or would a month and a half work better for everyone?

I usually have no problem reading a book in less than a week....but with the holidays around the corner maybe 6 weeks would be better for some right now.

...probably better for me too right now.

I'm in, but in the spring and summer, reading is difficult, you know horse chores. I think a month is fine for this time of year.
