I'm sorry you waited -- it was $1.99 since around Christmas up until just the last week or so, and last year for a time it was free.

Okay so I found it at the library but in Large Print only. Ha ha! Seriously there are like 20 lines per page. And after reading my Kindle almost exclusively for 2 years this books seems heavy. BUT...

I started it today and was interested by the 2nd page. Nothing like a runaway horse and carriage to start off a book. I plan on reading lots more tonight. So far I think this was a great choice!

Just finished the book. It started out good... lagged in the middle... then the old lady?? Really? I know some strong old ladies but that strong? That was kind of out of left field for me. I wanted it to be Peggy in the end. I did know it had something to do with the Dr.s Buggy when she stated the condition it was in and wondered why someone would pay so much to have it fixed.

I did NOT like the interaction between Merry and Geoff. It was never developed but random thoughts of a "connection" would be thrown in here and there. Like when Geoff helped Merry up by grabbing her hand and "thought she would lean into his chest so he could wrap his arms around her" Where did that come from? I like more development in my character relations.

I thought the book was an entertaining light read but was lacking in several areas.

Yeah, I kept expecting it to be Peggy too! Lol. I wonder if the relationship between Merry and Geoff gets better in the second book? Perhaps the writer wanted to keep people guessing, and thats why she was so vague about it. It was like a big no-no for him to be attracted to her without knowing she was innocent.

Bringing this topic back up since I'm so behind. Started the book today and suspect I'll be done pretty quick. I'm already 1/3 of the way through. I am liking this one much better than Shadow Street. I am connecting with the characters and it's an easy read. I was leary as the title is not something I would of picked, but so far I'm liking it.

I'm done....eventually I will catch up to you all. I did enjoy the book. I liked the characters and although the book wasn't high suspense, it did keep me occupied and interested. I however didn't like who they chose to be the murderer. Of course I knew from the get go it wasn't that sneaky Ken fellow or the governor (too obvious), but as others said they just kind of threw the murderer in at the end....I would of actually liked there to be more suspects and the story alittle more involved. All in all I enjoyed it but doubt I would go onto the next in the series. I did download February's book so I will read that one too...like I said I will eventually catch up!

YES! More suspects would have been great! Like some of his women-friends, those spry older ladies.

Be warned, you're going to love February's book (as long as you enjoy likeable vampires and good comedy). I had to buy all four, and finished them within a week's time. I laughed out loud a couple of times when my husband was nodding off to sleep next to me. Lol. And by the sounds of it, Jill is enjoying the March book. I'm anxiously awaiting mine to arrive in the mail.
