I have already emailed one person about this, but was hoping to find someone to handle this favor for me.

Would be really good if you have a PayPal account, as I would like to pay you for the item asap.

What it is is my four year old wants a particular toy and I cannot find this toy anywhere else at this time (looked all over ebay, etc.) except at Toys R Us Canada and it says that it can't be shipped anywhere BUT Canada.

Would someone be willing to take delivery of this (I think you'd have to order it, too, but that's where me sending you the money via PayPal comes in) and then remail it to us here in the US?

Ah, the things we do to make them happy....

So wishing I could find something similar here, but so far, no dice.

Thanks,

Liz M.

Hi Nootka,

Please let me know what the toy is and how much it costs? That would really help me out on making a decision of the mailing process to you

I remember when my girls were young, I always stopped into the US Toys R Us in order to purchase product not available in Canada. Sure would have been nice to have an American citizen help me out on that one sometimes so I understand.

PayPal is not an option for me however, I cannot imagine that you would in any way try to rip me off

So...let me know and I'll check it out for you as best I can.

Liz, I can also help if needed, and it might be quicker to get to you,. as I am right on the US border, and I am working in the US right now, so pass through the border every day, so could mail it to you from the states, to help get it to you in time for Christmas.

On that note however, there may also be duty/taxes that might need to be paid upon it's entry into the US(which would need doing either way), depending on the value of the item, and the value of goods they allow in at n/c.

If you need my help, I am willing...just let me know. Thanks.

I am not in Canada, but maybe the item can be found in the U.S. If you post what it is, I can help you look. You never know, I am in Michigan (kinda close to Canada)...maybe it can be found in a Toys R Us up here - lots of times things aren't listed on the internet when the store really does have it.

Here is the toy:

Tow Truck

Doesn't have to be that exact color (some of the links I looked through showed it to be sold out in one color variation, but as long as it's this truck, no matter what color car is on the back or type of car, is fine).

Silly thing not be able to find it, and I live 2 hours from the nearest Toys R Us, so I can't just run in and look. Not sure when we'll be back up in Portland to look and I don't want to wait too long or I'll be out of luck for getting it at all w/shipping.

This is one toy he's asked for specifically, and he usually doesn't ask specifically like that.

I appreciate any and all efforts and I will pay all fees and shipping, etc.

Liz

Nootka! You have a PM!

I work right by a toys r us, so tomorrow after work, I will go there and check if they have it. I'll let you know...

Liz, if I were you, I would call that store, and ask them to go and check for you, to see if they have one in stock. Tell them if they do, to grab it and put it away for you. Then either pay by credit card, and have them ship it to you, or better yet, just ask them to hold it until you run there to get it, and give your cc number as a guarantee for them to hold it until you get there.

Also, as I said, I will do it for you....am just waiting to hear back from you via pm on that message I sent to you, before I proceed any further to complete the order.

Thanks so much for the responses so far!

I may have at least one of these trucks on their way this week if things go in my favor, thanks to Mona and Tifflun.

IF for some reason I am not responsive, it is likely because my direcway satellite modem is dying and it goes in and out of service (this finally determined after having problems off and on for months). It is not because I am ignoring you. I try to check my email several times a day, as well as my pm's.

I have a dialup number they assigned me, but it is temperamental and very slow.

I do very badly want one of these trucks and if somehow we ended up with two, I would still pay for both and Colton just might get one, too, either this year or next year.

Thank you so far!

Liz M.

Well went down to the store and looked myself

none there- and they are not sure it will be on the next shipment- so it looks like the best hope is a web order.

I'm happy to hear that you are getting your truck and the response was quick.

Looks like Mona got one ordered for you...good, the store by my work didn't have any either.

Yes, I am indebted to Mona as well as those of you that took the time to at least look and see. I truly appreciate it and I am guessing I will have one happy little four year old come Christmas Morning and for a longtime after.

You see, a very good friend of ours operates a towing business and he likes to show off his truck for Brandon and Colton, and one of his trucks is a roll-off or flat bed tow truck very similar to that one. I think that is where Brandon began focusing on that toy.

Here is a pic of Al delivering a wrecked Bronco (a "toy" for the two big boys, Ken and Martin) last Spring to our place (this was a fun day indeed, don'tcha know...we really had to watch Brandon to keep him back and safe yet allow him to watch close up):

But, all the ones I could find were either not appropriate as in more like models/display pieces, or were not like the truck he wants to get and would not last anyway.

So then I found the Tonka one, but in all my searching, could only find it for sale in Canada. Not sure why!

Boys and their toys!

I will get a picture of him w/his truck when he gets it, though, you can bet!

Liz
