Need opinon on Carts. We have a nice Bellcrown (MiniCrown) cart and love it. We are looking for a second cart for my husband to drive, but not able to spend that kind of money again. We will be using it for trail driving as well as some arena work. Since we've had a wire wheel cart collapse (the wheel did the "taco thing")....we are looking at metal or wooden wheels. What is best for trail driving and arena? We really like the look of the GS Trail Cart but really wish it had different suspension. Has anyone used this cart and what is your opinion? Or any other ideas on less expensive, safe cart?? What have you used and been happy with or not?

I have a G&S trail cart and I love it. The springs are fine with me, I have driven in a Pacific trail cart (C-springs), and didn't feel any spectacular difference, certainly not enough to make such a huge difference in price for just a trail cart. Now the smart cart, that is different, you are talking air-ride suspension there...nice; but you also pay for it.

:)

How about a Hyper Bike? They make really good trail carts!

Good to hear about the GS Trail Cart...thank you. Have thought of the Hyper Bike.....does it come with steel wheels? or do they have the same wire wheel issues as bigger carts? Does anyone have any feedback on the Buggy Bob, Silver Penney or North West Mini Tack wooden easy entry carts? We would get wooden wheels. What is the weight difference between these wooden carts w/ wooden wheels versus something like a trail cart? Someone mentioned that the wooden carts were heavier, noisier and required more up-keep. What's your opinion?

I'll second Shari on the HyperBike -- I think you'd have the perfect two cart household with the HB and the Bellcrown, with no fights over who gets to drive what. The HyperBike is the ultimate trail cart and will stand up to almost anything. The only downside (if you can call it that) is not being able to take passengers, but you have that covered. Just be forewarned -- make it clear that the HyperBike belongs to BOTH of you, because you'll want your turn at it, too!

We have a hyperbike and a pacific smart cart. And yes we are preparing to order a second hyperbike, because of its fun factor and light weight. It has nylon wheels with either pneumatic or solid rubber tires. We just have the pneumatics as we only play around and are not interested in any competition, for higher levels you would need the solid rubber. Some ladies are working on some apron design so you could also do your dressage part of the CDE with it. I have yet to see or hear of a more suited cart for trails!
