I just found out that my friends missing cat was taken by the neighbours for bait for his hunting dogs. Illegal hunting dogs i might add.

The poor thing had just given birth, so the kittens died too.

The sick brats were bragging about it and think nothing of the fact they have killed a much loved 8 year old girls pet, for their own sick pleasure.

RIP poor Rowan.

I am so sorry to hear of this. Where I come from, little scoundrels like that get taught a lesson....enough said.

Good to hear they are dealing with it.....people like that should be careful....accidents happen....and Karma is a you know what.

I believe in Karma also, those brats willl pay in this lifetime or the afterlife. Hopefully your friends partner gets them good.

The asshats deserve "karma".... but it isn't the dogs' fault, it's owners'.... THEY deserve the "karma",

plus the authorities need to be notified because, even if they don't do anything because of lack of

evidence (which is often their excuse) it gives them a heads up....since you KNOW the asshats will

do something like it again with someone else's kitty.

Miniv is right about reporting. Last December my best friend was mauled by 6 rottweilers, and the case is STILL being settled because even though the irresponsible owner allowed her dogs to bite several people, kill multiple cats and go after other's dogs, none of it was reported properly, and that horrible girl got some of her dogs back and she still breeds them even though she cannot properly contain, care for or train them. If the owners of these dogs deliberately fed the cat to the dogs, they should go to jail for animal cruelty.

Sick brats that need to be punished.

But also, cats should be in the house or locked in a secure outdoor pen.

No other animal is allowed to roam, besides prey poultry, so neither should a cat. Especially since they are predators and cause issues with bird populations and such.

This happened quite some time ago (the cat going missing) but they only found out about it a few days ago. I disagree on keeping cats in, thats just unnatural and frankly drives cats to madness. It is the same as keeping a dog or a horse in the house all day every day. They will go mad. They kill birds, thats natural, but as long as they are well fed they won't do it TOO much I personally have bird feeders outside that are in a metal cage so the birds are protected from the cats when feeding.

The idea of keeping cats enclosed obviously doesn't live in the country or in a farming community.

Farm cats have a job. Good owners provide them with food, water, and shelter...usually in a barn and they still keep mice and other rodents under control.

Cats in a city are totally different and probably should be kept indoors for their safety.... mostly from traffic.

Friends cat was not in a city, we live in a very small town and her house backs onto a wilderness of trees and other such cat territory. I would agree that total city cats could not roam at all.
