I used clear eyes for the first time on my mare 3 days ago. She had the same symptoms you describe but her eye also looked a little red and irritated. It fixed her eye after just one application.
In humans, any drop that gets the red out will constrict the blood vessels. But when it wears of, the eye will be redder than before. I would suggest using a eye wash that you keep in the fridge. It will be very soothing to the eye.
I work as an eye tech, and we don't like our patients using Visine like products. Good luck with your girl.
I keep regular eye wash on hand and use that when my horses get the "gunky eye". It's the same thing we used at the vet clinic and you can find it at Walmart. Much better than using visine. Good luck.
My vet has suggested using Clear Eyes for minor eye irritations. You can try it and see if it helps. If the problem worsens, then I would discontinue use.

I just used some clear eyes in my guy's eyes as they had a little drip and redness going on due to all the dust. This usually works well for him. Good luck
Someone recommended Visine, the contact solution people use for there contacts. I use it, it works just as well, and is much cheaper. But yes, Clear Eyes works good too
I have this product as well. I do not use it regularly, on the bottle it says with daily use can brighten and enhance your horses eyes, but i do not use it daily. If someone gets an eye boogie, then i use it after i take a clean cloth of the eye and get rid of the goop, then i flush their eye out. I dont use it much at all really but it is really handy to have around just incase. My stallion, today had an eye boogie and i had to use it actually. So yes, very handy to have around
. Also, be sure to keep your hands and the part where you squire the lyquid out free of dirt and i try not to touch that area, at all.
We just use saline solution for eyes, it comes in a big bottle, isn't expensive and is always good to have on had in the event that somebody in the barn-horse or human gets something in their eye. You also won't get the red eye rebound effect that Addicted to Minis mentioned.
