I think we are getting close!

We don't know exact due date because the lady we bought her from pasture breed and didn't keep good dates, SO..

She started showing signs of bagging up two weeks ago, but has been on and off.. Noticed she started losing her plug about 10 days ago, and now is starting to REALLY Bag up and Milk Veins are really starting to show, but still no milk to do strip test, she has been bouncing back and forth between looking really wide one day and thin the next and now looks like she has started to drop...

I will post some pics, let me know what you think.. Thanks

I'm still learning so don't just rely on what I say. She doesn't look huge, but she sure looks to me like baby has dropped and her bag looks huge compared to my mare.

I'm sure someone else on here can give u a better and knowledgeable advice.

Thanks for the input! I'm really stumped on the lack of milk production, but looks like most of the other signs shows she is getting close..

What a pretty mare.

I would think you are close, but not quite there yet. I would expect her to get looser in the rear, nipples to fill with milk and point more straight down, and her to become more "trim" looking as the foal slips into position. JMHO. I would watch her very closely though. Thinks can change in an instant!
Thank you very much!

We have her on cam and halter monitor at night, and keep her on a yard cam during the day when we turn her out..

We started checking her 3 times a day for any changes, I will post some more pics tomorrow afternoon after her evening checkup..

Yes watch for the nipples to fill but wow she looks really close!

Thanks for the replies,

I will post some more pics this afternoon, She is getting a tummy clip and bath to get her ready for baby..

If it was me, I'd be saying she's really close. You can probably get a drop of milk or two to test the pH. Good luck!

I checked her this morning and did milk some out on tip of finger, so I will try and pull enough to test this afternoon..

She also looks a little thinner today..

Ooooh your mare looks so clean and shiny, and all slicked of. Very pretty, and yes she looks very close to foaling. Sending good wishes your way.

BATH?

but she is spotless, the first thing I thought when I saw her photos was how clean and shiny she looks. Get a star and go to the top of the class

I bought her from a lady in Alvin Texas who told me her name was "Annie", The lady didn't know if she was registered nor did she know when exactly she was breed, but did say she has a colt June 6th, and was with a solid white stallion when she foaled..

I bought her because when I passed by this home she was "Smiling at me" out by the road.

Was your mare sold to anybody in Texas?

I love silver dapples and REALLY wish she was registered, but I had to buy her she was just to pretty of a horse..

Ok, our check of Annie this afternoon revealed Bags seam to have shrunk some which is not unusual after being turned out all day, however, she does appear to be dropped more and not as wide as last night.

I still could not get enough milk to test her, milk veins are still very swollen..

We gave her a bath today, brushed, and cleaned the dinner table for little baby when he/she arrives..

I will call the lady I bought her from a see who she bought her from, maybe it will come back to you. :

I was told that she was born the spring of 2003, so if that sounds about right to you then it could possibly be her..

Update: We let her out of stall this morning and noticed she bagged up more and warm to the touch, also noticed her laying down more on cam last night.. Will try and drawl milk and check her with more photo's this afternoon..
