Some folks were looking for photos of converted mini trailers. This is my 14' box trailer inside. The back doors were bathwing, but we converted them to a ramp.

The stalls are about 20" wide. The manger is canvas, so they don't hurt their noses if they bob their heads.

I don't think wooden lattice would be strong enough if one of them kicked it or fell against it. I tie them so I know where their heads are. Stallions like to rear or go under dividers if the mood moves them. Loosely tied, they can only go up or down so farm. It also gives more support if necessary.

I have to say on here that it is very important to tie your horses in the trailer, unless you have a big trailer, no dividers and enough room to turn around and balance. In those tight dividers, the horses need the tie to balance with and also to keep their heads up. There is nothing worse than putting your head down and not being able to lift it again!! How scary that would be. Also as was mentioned above stallions like to go over and under the dividers so tying is a neccessary thing. It's just the safest thing to tie.

Ruffian, did you make your managers? If so, can you give me some more information on how you did it? I want to make some for my trainer. I have a 16 ft stock tailer that my husband made dividers for. They look just like slant divider in a big horse trailer. I was really wanting to make some managers now.

Oh, and here is something to think about. My dividers are also 20" wide. I measured the width of all my minis and ponies hips from bone to bone. They will fit very comfortably in a 20" divider. Also, with the dividers being close to the horses body, the horse can use them for support on turns. They work very well and they all haul much better since we added the dividers.

Thanks, Dana
