Oh Helen, I'm so sorry. I know exactly how you feel, I had the exact same thing happen with a mare last May, only with ours the placenta passed out normally once we got the foal out so we didn't have that worry.

I pray that Katie will be okay--you know how much I like that little mare! She will be feeling pretty rough for a few days--our mare took a week to start looking less sad, and after 2 weeks she was pretty much back to normal. I sure hope Katie will be the same.

I'm just so sorry you had to experience this with Katie, and also sorry to hear about your dog. {{{hugs}}} to you.

there are just no good words, I am so sorry for your losses. I pray your little mare makes a healthy recovery and the 2 of you heal your hearts together. I bet your beagle was waiting for the baby to help her along. again very sorry.

i will add my heartfelt condolences. i'm so very sorry for your losses. (((hugs))) to you!

I am so sorry for your loss. I know only too well how devastating a dystocia can feel. It is one of the worst situations to be in - and my heart goes out to you and your little mare. Nobody knows why these things happen - why does the foal get into the wrong position - why when we wait for so long does it sometimes end like this

I hope that your little mare recovers quickly and that next year will be completely different. Our mare that had a horrible dystocia last year - foaled a beautiful black and white pinto filly for us this year - totally perfect delivery - we call her Misty Moon Copys Special Delivery - because it was a special delivery after last years disaster.

So - many prayers for you and Katie - and next year will be a good year for both of you - I know it in my heart

Oh, I am sooo sorry, it is heart wrenching to lose a foal, I almost lost my mind when we lost Donte. It is good to get it out, spend alot of time with your mare with lots of hugs and kisses. {{{{HUGS}}}} toyou...

Our thoughts and prayers are with you for your mare.

Condolences on the loss of the beautiful filly.

Helen, I'm so sorry. We lost a beautiful colt early this year in exactly the same way. Good news is, the mare recovered nicely and will be able to have babies again. These things are simply out of our hands sometimes. Take care,

Jan

There are no words to heal this hole in your hearts, losing a baby so loved and longed for by both of you hurts too badly, I know. I am so sorry and my prayers come across the miles to help both of you heal.

Helen So very sorry for the loss of your precious filly. I totally understand, I had some heartbreaking losses a couple years ago from distocias, hope Katie recovers for you.... I was not so lucky with Sillouette and her palamino filly two years ago.

Prayers going up for you today.

Lyn

I am so sorry for your loss. My heart sank when I saw the title to your thread, after following Katie's other thread this past week.

Helen, I am so sorry to hear about your baby. We all know the hurt and pain your feeling, as alot of us have been there with our precious babies and lost them. (((hugs))) Corinne

 It is so sad when you lose something in a situation like that. It is never easy when there is nothing you could do to change the outcome..my prayers go out to you. I am so very sorry..Judy

Oh Helen, that is just awful. I certainly know how you feel- I have lost a couple to distocia. I am so sorry. At least your mare is with you and you can try again. It is such a disappointment to wait with absolute anticipation and then to have that as the end result. Hugs to you and I hope your mare will be ok. Give her lots of hugs and love- I know you will.

I am also sorry. Yes this is heartbreaking. Bless you!
