I got the following email and was wondering if it is legit or something that if you click on it will give you a virus. It is so hard to tell these days.

Quintin [email protected] has invited you to join the AMHA-Members group with this

message:

Hi, this is Quintin from the AMHA Office.

AMHA is changing the way it sends out Emails to the Membership in mass!

We will now be using Google Groups. As with the previous system only the AMHA

office can send messages to the membership this group.

You will need to click on the "accept this invitation" link below to complete

this process

or you can join the group at http://groups.google.com/group/AMHA-Members

After clicking on the accept link you will not need to do anything else to

receive Email announcements from the AMHA office. A Google account is not

required to receive Email announcements from AMHA.

Here is the group's description:

AMHA Members News and Information

---------------------- Google Groups Information ----------------------

You can accept this invitation by clicking the following URL:

http://groups.google.com/group/AMHA-Member...zgDVAEO1Lv1WeBS

Access to the group on the web requires a Google Account. If you don't have a

Google Account set up yet, you'll first need to create an account before you

can access the group. You can create an account at:

I got that e-mail also, and was a little "leery" of it. Will be glad to follow this thread and see what others find out. Thanks

I got it this am... I'll be anxious to find out whether it's spam or not.

Although I did not receive the email yet I did check out the group and just joined. It seems to be much like a Yahoo group except that in this one only the moderator can post.

Wierd.......I'm a lifetime member and didn't get one........ I'd be leery too.

Yes, this is a real deal. I just called the AMHA office and spoke to Quintin.

He is still working on getting out all the emails to the members, it will only

let him send them 1000 at a time. So you should be getting an email soon.

But you can click on these links and sign up or if you go to AMHA web site

in an hour he should have a link there as well to sign up. He is working on

adding the link now.

Thanks

As of this morning, I had not received one either.

I just got it today and I am sure it is legit. I am on the computer committee, but this is something we hadn't discussed.

Quintin is legit, he is the in house IT person and this group is for AMHA to send out email announcements to members.

It is legit and when you get it, I recommend that you join it in order to keep up with AMHA news, which will be sent out via the group.

Thanks everyone. I tend to be over cautious on things like that. I occasionally get emails saying there is a problem with my ebay account, paypal account, etc. Click here to correct it. I don't have any of those accounts, but see how someone who does could easily be deceived.

I received the email this morning and joined the group.
