I don't think it odd at all.

I am probably like the people you are questioning. I just bought a mare, it took us a few months to get her picked up. I knew just by looking at the lady's setup and her heart for her animals that they horse was in good hands. I also don't know how busy the seller is. So just an email here or there to make sure everything is going fine. I save all my oooohhhing and ahhhhhing for when she is in my possession. Now that I have her. I am tickled pink. And give the seller updates on her travel here and her mingling with the other horses.

People are different. Some are chatty and excited. Some are more reserved.

I have been in your position, and I have found that some people don't like to type much,or don't have as much computer access, or time as I do!LOL I have family members like that too! They just aren't used to emailing, and when they do it is just short and to the point. Now since the horse is paid for in full, and they are following everything they said they would do, I would just hang back and wait to hear from them. If they don't get your little updates, maybe they will be inclined to call or email to check on the horse. If the horse wasn't paid for in full, then I would be more concerned. I am like you I like LOTS of contact, and actually I think for now on I am going to state that even if it is an email to say HI! I am still alive and still wanting the horse....etc. I would be happy, I probably pester to much when I am purchasing, but that is just me, I want to make sure everything is ok! Good Luck! :saludando:

I guess I would give this a different spin.

The horse is sold and you have received payment. Correct?

The horse is fine and you've e-mailed them often giving updates. Correct?

They have acknowledged your e-mails. Correct?

And now you are talking about them on a public forum about their lack of concern. Correct?

If I were the buyer I would feel very upset that you were communicating about me to others as if I had done something wrong, when I've paid in full, arranged for shipment, and expect to get the horse at the appointed time. Who is the one who should feel concerned? You or the buyer who has honored all the requirements?

You're keeping the mini until early summer, right?

And these people really don't know you, right?

Well, maybe they fear if they started e-mailing you regularly you would perceive it as harassment and you'll tell them to come get their mini now.

Of course, that's just more guesswork.

The reality is, you have no way of knowing why these people aren't e-mailing for updates. Unless you ask. So, ask.
