l'm a member but my daughter isn't..she has offered to help show a gelding for someone who would like to show 2 of her's that would be in the same class.. l don't think any of them are ammy classes. Does she need to become a member of AMHR to do that or can she just show him for the other person without becoming one??

To expand on this question....don't you have to be a member to show your OWN horse? I know the horse has to be AMHR registered, but does my membership have to be current to enter her in an AMHR show? And what about an AMHA show - does my membership have to be current? Thanks.

You do not have to be a member to show a horse, and the owner of a horse does not have to be a member for the horse to be shown.

HOWEVER, I'm pretty sure that if the owner of the horse is not a member, the horse will not accrue any "points" (HOF or All-Star) for that time.

Andrea

That is correct, you will not get any points if you are not a member.

I believe though that for a YOUTH to show in a YOUTH class not a open class they must be a youth member. This year in 2010 AMHR youth memberships are free and can get them at a show from the steward.

so am l correct in thinking that the women who is a member and doing the entry but my daughter isn't and shows one of them for her he will still be able to collect points??

I think you are thinking right. My son's girlfriend shows our horses and they have gotten the points.
