Does anybody feed Diamond pet food?

I know this isn't horse related, but this is so important as dogs have died. No joke, the recall is posted on the web site www.diamondpetfood.com. There was aflatoxin found in the corn that was used to make the dog food and that causes liver failure. On the web site is information telling you how to identify if your bag is from the bad batch.

Oh my goodness Jodi, thank you for posting this. Last week I had to a take one of our barn cats to the vet as he was acting very odd and something was terribly wrong. The vet asked if he had gotten into any kind of poisin and I said "not that I know of". But for the first time I had gotten Diamond Cat food. I don't know if thats what caused his problem, but I will be getting back in touch with the vet today to see if she feels that could have been the cause. My cat survived, but the vet didn't think he would.

We live in Monroe,N.C., and buy our food in Fort Mill,S.C. Thank goodness my husband was watching a Charlotte,N.C., station last night when they warned the public about Diamond Pet food. We went to the web site and sure enough we had TWO bags of Diamond Performance Dog Food that have the code on the bag that matches the one on Diamond's web site. I opened one of the bags and it smelled absolutely horrible. The news here in our area reported this morning that so far three dogs have died as a result of the aflatoxin in their Diamond dog food. A necropsy was done on each dog. Please, please, please heed this warning - it is not a joke.

That could be the problem with your cat, did it show signs of liver failure?

If you still have the bag, you can check to see if it was contaminated.
