Where's Jane...she swears by bread but prefers the brown breads. Jaaaaannnnneeeee! I haven't ried it but I will. We use so little bread it goes stale but I think I'll set it out to harden first. Cool and I was almost out of cookies too!

Yes, strictly as treats from time to time ...i dont feed it on a regular basis

I dont give them a whole slice, i normally take a small piece and make a little ball and give them, i have yet to find a horse that doesnt like bread, although, the weanlings dont really care much for bread.

My horses like nearly anything you give them. Those little rice crisp chips, oh yes ...they love! They like the plain ones or the sweet & tanky ones.

Did i forget to mention cerial? They LOVE cerial ..all types and all kinds. Coco is more a fruity pebbles kind of gelding ...he is the one i let myself spoil

Just be careful. I used to know a Morgan breeder, neighborhood kids were feeding the horses bread. Apparently some of the bread was moldy and one of the horses died. Horses get horse food.

I have never tried bread but I'm sure my minis would eat it as they eat anything!

A few years ago I had a Paint gelding that would go absolutely cuckoo over carmel rolls! He had even learned to drink out of pop and beer bottles

Once I was eating a hot dog in a lawn chair in our backyard. On one side of me I had our dog and on the other side was my mini. They were both begging for a piece of hot dog bun. LOL

The colt that was BEGGING for the bread is a 4 month old and should be weaned (I just haven't done it yet). He is quite a charmer and makes the cutest faces to get what he wants. I never give bread or rolls to our chickens if it is moldy. They were the ones getting the bread when Dusty decided it would be a good treat. They don't even get bread that often because there are 7 in my family and it usually goes fast. But, once in a while it hits the sell by date and out it goes.

My Dad would always give my Arab/Saddlebred mare a slice of her favorite treat, Oatmeal Honey Bread. She LOVED that. Willie, our adopted drafty type mini, loves to share cold pizza with me. And my POA's favorite was mint Oreos, all given in moderation though.

In all honesty I haven't found too much my horses won't eat. They will kill for a glazed doughnut. I have one mare very fond of pizza and another bit a hole in my screen on our lanai because she wanted french fries and no one was bringing her any. I know these things aren't good for them. they just get a taste. My stallion loves chocolate parfait too.

Pretty much the same thing here. I have a gelding who LOVES to go to horse shows cause it means treats, he eats hamburgers, pizza, ice cream whatever anyone else is eating is fair game to him

Yep I've done it too. From the day old bread place. Back in the 70's you could get a barrel of bread for 1.00 it was NEVER moldy. Back when I did it I had six big horses I fed a loaf a day. It really put a SHINE on their coats. I fed it for a whole winter. The horses LOVED it.

YEP mine are nuts for bread. They see the yellow bag in my hand and they come running.

They only get 1-2 slices and they love it.

My mini stallion, Bandit, LOVES bread. I went to give some of our old bread to our chickens and he came up to investigate and I gave him a piece, not thinking that he would really eat it, cause our big horses don't like it. But he sure does! It was a competition between him, the chickens and the dogs.

I used to make horse treats out of whole wheat bread spread with baby food carrots and some spouts . You cut off the crusts and cut into fours. They love them. I fed a whole quarter horse barn one Christmas Eve.
