If so what "things" do you put in your bread to make them different?

I guess I should post my limitations when I ask for additions.

I'm low carbing and have low carb wheat and white bread complete mixes. I'm looking for things I can throw in for example: The white bread I am adding cinnamon, & walnuts.

I would like to make my Mom some "Stolen" (sp) bread but I'm not sure what the chunks are that's in it. I think its a German bread? She LOVES it but I don't care for it at all, ick!

I like to use different flours in mine, like spelt, potato and quinoa and use natural sugars like molasses and sorghum. I love fresh bread but I'm sensitive to wheat so I make my own whenever possible.
 
Did the machine not come with a redipe book ? There are literally thousands of different types of breads that can be made. If you are interested PM me and I will arrange to forward one of the several I have to you.
 
I LOVE to make bread (but HATED my bread machine) I always consider kneading kind of theraputic

: I have some awesome recipes ...You could see about adding wild rice (one of my favorite), molasses, coffee and cocoa (for a wonderful black bread), I always use 1/2 or more of wheat flour and sometimes rye. Oatmeal is good as well as potato flakes... Have fun!
 
YES---and I HATE the stupid thing! Let me tell you, I probably could lose a few pounds if I used it, because you sure wouldnt be able to eat any of the bread, mine turns out like a chunk of rock every time I have tried it. ..and when I first bought it all I could think of was it would be so nice waking up to the smell of fresh bread being baked, well, all I bake is rocks!! I make alot of differnet types of bread (I love baking) but there all made in the oven, and complete with the old fashion kneading. I make german stollen too, but only in the oven, the "chunks" that are in it, is nuts and dried fruit, and I also put cherries in it. It was my Gramma's recipe, I love it...but everyone else hates it. I HATE fruitcake, and everyone else thinks its ...well, Ok. Corinne
 
I have found a nice solution for the hard as rock bread machine bread. I use the dough cycle and then take it out, twist it up to my liking and then pop it in the oven for 20 minutes or so.

I like to put jalepeno slices in my dough, then sprinkle some cheese on top when I bake it in the oven. Yummy!

I also make foccacha (sp) with mine. I use the dough cycle then you spread the dough out on a pan, put little slices in the dough around the sides, you can take any number of ingredients, but I use slices of grilled chicken, bacon and ham, top with cheese.

You then criss cross the cut pieces across the top and pour a little melted butter along the top and bake for about 20-30 minutes.

Add a salad and you have a full meal for 4+
 
My mom had one when we were teenagers and we used it all the time. If I recall correctly, we had to experiment with how to combine the ingredients so that they mixed properly and we didn't get the rock effect.

We never did anything too wild, but I remember flax bread (good for Omega 3!), cheese bread, and bread with those little seeds that kind of taste like licorice ... also herbal breads with whatever we had around - oregano, basil, etc.

I do remember we LOVED the bread and we'd all sit around and eat the whole loaf between the four of us when it was fresh out of the machine. Definitely not a low-carb diet.
