While scrolling through some posts and threads, Ive realized that arabs are sorta popular on here, their my favorite big horse breed, and its my dream to own one... and one day i will, but until then, I guess all I can do is dream and look, so... if you own one or two or twenty, would you mind posting pictures...

purebred arabs, half arabs, alive or deceased they all count too, love them all the same

Count me as an Arabian lover - thought you may enjoy this story -

I obtained my very first Arabian back in 1975 - a little grey yearling gelding - linebred Raffles and he only matured to 14.3 - he was a special part of our family until just a couple of years ago and now is buried under his favorite tree near a stream. He was a horse that could do it all (western, english, hunter over fences, trail, reining, working cattle, trail, native custume, showmanship, equitation - you name it - he did it) and along the way he won many regional championships, high point championships and was top ten at the Nationals (we were stabled beside Wayne Newton!). He was also the first horse that I totally trained myself. One year, at a huge fair, he was the only non-quarter horse in the open versatility class - and he won - He and I showed many, many years - almost every weekend in open and rated shows and not once did he ever miss a lead. I would ride him without a bridle or saddle around the farm all of the time (before that was the cool thing to do). This is a photo of him from around 1980................he totally disspelled the term back in those days of "Crazy Arabian". Everyone in our area knew him and he was even featured in a big newspaper article. He was the smartest horse I have ever owned or had the pleasure of working with and although small - he was all heart................... I still miss him.

Check out my website for pictures of my current arabians. I have had arabians since 1991, bred my first mare in 1993 and had my first foal in 1994.

Really nice horses evryone there all so gorgeous still looking for my dream gelding which would be: 14-15 hands high, bay with 4 white socks, blaze, and around 10-13 yrs old, still in that search he will come to me one day in the future I hope to raise arabians as well as the minis

I owned Arabians and Half Arabians(3/4 and 7/8ths) for over 20 years

and I will always love them.

It all started with the chestnut blaze face reg three quarters arab mare I

bought when she was seven DAYS old. Owned her for 21 years. Bred twice

to the bay stallion with the four low whites, she gave me a bay colt and a

bay filly.

The bay filly with the big blaze and one back sock (reg 7/8ths), I owned and

showed for nine years. Emerald Bey, as she was called, racked up the blues

in halter, hunter and western pleasure.

No longer able to ride due to a back condition, I found miniature horses.

Arabians in miniature - perfect !!

Hope you enjoy these pictures.

Here is my biggie, and no he does not live here too! I keep him at Friends farm as he does use him at breeding time.

I use to show in Arabin Classes but the politics just got way out of hand! So I trail ride at times with him.

My first horse was an arab, and I learned to ride at an arab barn. We still have Geronimo (first horse), we got him when he was 12, he will be 23 next month and I swear he hasn't aged a day! He has done it all in his life. Before we bought him he was used as a breeding stallion for a short time, raced on the flat, showed western pleasure on the arab circuit (sp), and did endurance races. When he came to us we used him for a trail horse for a few years, and when my show horse died, I began using him for 4H in english/ wester pleasure/ equitation, and trail, then a 17 years of age he learned to jump and we evented for several years. I now use him for an occasioinal trail horse, but if I had the time, he could still be out there eventing today.

This was years ago, our first year eventing I think. Who ever said arabs can't jump? They don't know what they are talking about!

This was 7 or 8 years ago, 4H showmanship at the LA County Fair

I own one Arabian mare, I got her when she was a 3 day old orphan, she's 8 years old now. Her name is GHA Stormy Moniet, she's a Straight Egyptian, Al Khamsa, Blue List. She may not be the most "flashy" or "gorgeous" arab but I love her very much and she's definately one of a kind!
default_wub.png
She's a great trail horse and can be ridden on trails with just a halter and reins attached to it and does great. The picture of me on her she's wearing her bosal (sp?) and it works good also. But I prefer riding her with just her halter and reins.

Beautiful Arabs everyone. I, too, love them.

Braveheart W, my 15.3h 5 y/o gelding, was region 7 Reserve Grand champ halter horse. I recently got him and hope to do Arabian shows in the future... my goal is Scottsdale 2010 (I live so close, why not!)

Golebica, aka Spring, is my 14h mare who is for sale.

And my half arabian, 13.3h Calista

Very nice Arabians everyone !!!!!

jleonard... That is a beautiful dressage horse you have :)

CheyAut... your gelding should do very well in Halter for you, just get his front feet out a little farther and his croup will flatten making a much nicer picture ! :)

I had always had Appaloosas, but my last full sized horse was an Arabian. I sold her not long ago just due to lack of time and didnt think it fair to her, as she loved trail riding and her new owner hauls her all over to ride. Working full time and then some, dont have time for a full sized horse and the Minis now.

I called her Amira, but her name was Abidonna. She is a granddaughter of Muscat, and Padron and a great granddaughter of Serafix. Three of my favorites all rolled up in one!!! Her sire is a reining horse. She was the only one that didnt have the white chrome that I like so much, but I bought her because her personality and something in her eye just caught mine.

Not great pics- taken with fuzzy hair....

I will say that no other breed of horse can give me goosebumps like the Arabs do when they move........... <sigh> They are more than breathtaking- and I see several here I would love to have!!!

Arabs are our (mom and I) favorite breed (aside from minis of course)

My first personal Arab was Petite. Mom bought her as a 2 year old and gave her to me later in life. LOVED that horse. Sadly she passed away about 7 years ago. I know she has the wrong bit here. She was not used to other bits and we just did it for the picture anyway. ^_^ She still looked darn cool.

Aquarious

This horse was amazing. Mom got him years ago when he was about 5 I believe. She road him till she was 8 months pregnant with me and then shortly after I was born with me. I took my naps on him. He was an excellent teacher. Just the coolest guy ever. He lived to be about 38 years old. Cant say enough good things about him.

Here's my mom on him

Here is my special guy...I got him at 2 years old and he is now 8! I gelded him this past spring only because he was miserable here with all the mini mares coming into heat. He was the BEST stallion one could ever own.
