My ISP just went up substantially on my DSL service! Just wondered who everybody uses and what you pay?

I know I pay somewhat higher price then most but my DSL service is provided by my own Independent phone company..

The lowest end of DSL is for 256 speed and is priced at $27.95 Somewhat faster speed is $35.95.. That is what I am on right now.. And the Higher speed is $44.95 at 1MB and the Highest end speed is $52.95 for 1MB download speed and 384 Up load sending things like E Mails and such.

Now the basic Dial up was $19.95 so at $35.95 it is higher now then what I was paying for dial up~! BUT This is the only service I can get on DSL~! No other option is available to me....No Cable, and Satellite is lots higher then what I just qouted... Now you can either BUY a DSL Modem for say around $90 dollars or I am sure your service may have a renting program for the DSL Modem avaible...But I bought one so I didn't have that monthly charge also tacked on...But then again if the Modem gets struck by a lightening strike I will have to BUY A new one myself, that is the only bad thing I guess that I can see...

Oh on a side note is your computer set up for DSL? I mean does it have a ethernet card in it? If rather new I would think that card should be in your machine but if older then say 4 years it may not have that and you would then have to add that in your computer to use DSL.. You can use USB but it is not as good as using it through a network card~!

I have a package deal through my phone company, unlimited long distance $39.95, cell phone package of $59.95 or over and DSL $14.95. Its been pretty good so far. I like the unlimited long distance since my parents live in another state and the cell phone package was easy to go over the $59.95 since we have two cell phones anyway and Nation Wide Calling. This is for the faster loading DSL too.

We have a package also throught SBC which includes unlimited long distance (caller i.d., waiting, etc), DSL, and Dish Network all together including tax it runs us a little over $100 a month... I think the DSL alone is around $30 a month...

Ours is bundled as well with cable and DSL and it runs right around $100.00 a month but our dial up here was worthless.
