Just wondering how the auction went? How were the prices? How many bought horses home with them?

Yeah I ended up not going, stayed home to take care of mine here so i'd love to hear too how the auction went, did anyone take pictures???

We went! We ended up coming home with 3 exposed mares, and a yearling filly! IMO, the prices were WAY reasonable! I'll be posting pictures of the 4 we bought when I get a chance to get pictures!

I didnt stay long enough to see things sell. I bid on one horse but decided to let her go as I reallyd ont have the room.

LBS so much for not buying right :bgrin

I was there from the beginning through about the first 10 horses, then left. The guy I was sitting next to bought 25 lead ropes~!

I nearly bought a easy entry cart, but then it will be another year yet before i am ready to "hitch up"

I Should have bought the "used" driving harness i could use that but chickened out. lol

I would have stayed longer but my RA was really bothering me and sitting in a chair like I was I was just getting stiffer and stiffer, and when I stood up it was difficult walking around in so much pain.

Yeah! We bought a bunch of tack stuff too... Including the A sized used driving harness.

I didnt stay for them all as there wasnt really anything that the drew my attention. Except the one I bid on and even that wasnt so strong that I needed to keep bidding.

I think I did hear one sell for $85.

I think over all the quality was better then last year, didnt feel the need to bring anything home because it looked like it was on its death bed.

I think they had several horses that might have sold decent but most of them sold as grade which killed there prices.

There were several shetlands I like but agian, they were grade.

I believe the highest price was somewhere between $700 - $900 and the lowest was $50.

I think the difficulty in getting the catalogue (which was the pinter's fault) really hurt them. Half the time I didn't know how old horses were and there was a lot of confusion of which horses had papers (and which papers they had), and even if it was said it was really hard to understand the announcer. The nicest horse there (in my opinion) was a very up-headed, very stylish, weanling sorrel filly that went to some friends of mine for $700. The average was around $300, quite a few no saled, but like I said I think the absence of a catalogue really hurt them. We just can home with 5 feeders.

ck I think I know what filly you are talking about. I liked her until I got the to back legs. THat was a no go for me. But then I guess when they sell cheap and you have the room to gamble on them then it works out good.

Sorry you had so much pain, RA is one of many of my problems and I know all too well what ot's like to not be able to do what we'd like when we'd like. SO frustrating. Hope you are feeling better now.

Congrats Jennifer. That is the filly my hubby was tempted to bid on. She is gorgeous.

She was one of my pics. I was told she wasnt registured, had I known she was, I might of had to fight you for her!

Can I ask what she sold for?

I prefer not to say, but i am ecstatic to have her. she was scared and you can tell she has had little work but is settling in nicely. jennifer :saludando:

Yes I am better today thank you. I even worked outside after the Packer game that is lol.

I just needed to take a day and rest up.

My knees and ankles were really acting up on Saturday but I still went even brought my trailer just in case maybe there would be a mini donk, but non went through.

Wow sounds like a great sale that I missed! I really just wanted to go for the sake of seeing what went through the sale, I don't have room to bring anyone home. I have been to one sale, back in 2005 and it really interested me to see the quality that went through the ring, and what the horses sold for. I still remember seeing bad things...ankles that twisted over while walking, stiff joints, etc. I still stand firm to this day that the best horse that went through that sale was a drop dead gorgeous, small sooty buckskin stallion...perfect, no physical issues that I could see, and he sold for all of $50! I watched him crawl up into the back of a pickup truck and off they went!

Jennifer - congrats on a beautiful girl!
