Someone had told me years ago you can use Lite Salt as electrolytes for horses. I was wondering if anyone does this?

One of the main ingredients in Salt Substitute is Potassium. A mineral that is lost with dehydration.

I do not use it as an electrolyte but I do mix it with pepto when a horse has extreme diarrhea under the direction of my vet.

I'm curious about what everyone else uses. My vet recommended Equii-Stress which I buy from him and I like and the horses seem to like but I ran out and the vet was out of it too and I couldn't find it anywhere to buy. I ended up buying one from Fleet Farm that looks like it has the same ingredients but I've never heard of the brand. I can't even think of the name. It is apple flavor.

We have used the same thing as Marty and really liked it. jennifer :saludando:
