I haven't worn perfume in years.......But I used to have "signature" scents at different times which included

Jessica McClintock, White Shoulders, and a vanilla scent that I can't remember the brand name of......

MA

My current pick is Curve. I used Navy for years.

Mary, let me see if I can get through to Bob  :bgrin

Now the Dr. Phil in me has advice for Bob.....Bob GO SMELL your wife.

: Then start singing "isn't she LOVELY"....you know like the perfume...hint hint. Oh and I think there's a hint for a christmas wish in her post. OFF to Victoria's Bobby Boy :bgrin I'm glad we kinda know each other from shows or am I am really going to blush next time we see each other at shows.

There are a lot of different scents I like and have chosen and worn - one of my faves was "Issy Miake" (I know I totally butchered the spelling of that) but it was expensive and hard to find. My husband isn't a big perfume guy so I never knew if I actually smelled good or not - because we ALL know a perfume that smells great on one person can smell like crap on another.

A couple of years ago while Christmas shopping I told him I wanted him to pick HIS favorite perfume on me and dragged him all over the mall smelling things and trying on different scents. His favorite was a new one at the time by Sara Jessica Parker called "Lovely". I got a sample and tried it for a couple of days and he and I both still liked it. It is a nice light, subtle perfume and comes in a pretty bottle and is a light pink. I like it a lot too and still wear it and at least I know it is one he chose and liked though I think he could care less whether I wear one or not.

ANOTHER THOUGHT........Victoria Secret has a huge variety of perfumes, body sprays and lotions in their store that I really like too and especially around the holidays you can pick up a package deals with tiny sample size bottles of them at a great price and then you have a chance to try out quite a few before you commit to a full size one plus then you can coordinate your underwear and your fragrance. (joking)

Ohhhh I love Obsession, then Red, and then White Shoulders,,, but White Shoulders makes me cry, it was my Mom's all time favorite. I smell her sometimes when I am really scared or stressed out.

Vanilla Musk and White Musk...I think one or the other of those fragrances is by Coty. Then I love, love, love the body sprays from Victoria's Secret. Love Spell, Endless Love....those I wear mostly as they are not overpowering and they give you just a hint of freshness...very invigorating.

My favorites are Wind Song,(I think I am the only one in the family that wears it),Estee Lauder's Pleasures and Mary Kay's Tribute. I really have a hard time if I smell Island of Gardinia(SP?), that was my mom's perfume..

For years and years it was either Jungle Gardenia or Joy....then about 10-15 years ago, Victoria's Secret came out with Rapture. I have some little bottles of the JG and Joy I never use except to remind me of a love long lost when I'm feeling lonely and miss him (he looks down on me always, though). I have to wear the Rapture forever now since my girls say "it smells like Mommy". I know my animals would freak if I wore anything else! I guess it goes best with my body chemistry since I always get compliments, men and women, whenever someone gets close enough to catch a whiff!

I notice there were alot of White Shoulders fans....it was a scent my mother always wore, too! Sometimes I swear I smell it when it's no where around, and I just figure my mom's thinking about me (she lives 1500 miles away).

I was really surprised when we were in an airport fragrance shop and the saleslady said 'just smell this and tell me what you think'. It was heavenly and my daughter and I both loved it! It was Brittany Spears (the pink bottle, is that Fantasy?) and we are still amazed that it was so lovely. My daughter got the bottle, tho, not me

:bgrin I love Macki, have worn it for years but not everywhere stocks it. I usually buy it at the duty free when crossing into the US for retriever trials. It must work for me because I always get people asking what is that nice smell :bgrin

What are your favorite perfumes / scents for women?

I like Anais-Anais, Sunflowers, and this inexpensive Plumeria body spray.

What about you all?

Jill funny you mention that.my grandmother wore Anais Anais and she used to let us wear a tiny bit when we were little.......I love that one........I haven't attempted to buy perfume in years it's all I can do to walk by the aisle anymore.

I like essential oils ...particularly things like lavendar, bergamot, citrus.......most perfumes give me a sinus headache.........................of course so many people seem to soak in their chosen scent

My all time favorite is Aromatics Elixir by Clinique'. Funny thing about it though is that it attracts women! I can't begin to tell you how many times I've been stopped and asked what perfume I had on and how good I smell. Actually, I came upon it doing the same thing. If I was a lesbian, this would be the stuff to wear

Hmmm, maybe Russ needs to use this instead of men's cologne

Hubby HATES it and gets really annoyed when I wear it no matter how sparingly. It even works better than complaining of a headache.

CK-Eternity, CK-Sheer Obsession(lighter version of Obsession) or sometimes Mary Kay Elige. I can ony wear light perfumes or my allergies go bezerk!

I like Gap Grass (which they discontinued), a Vanilla Caramel by Victoria's Secret (which is also discontinued) what is it whenever I like something it gets discontinued??? lol

I also like Night-Blooming Jasmine by Bath and Body Works which, as I think about it, is ALSO discontinued!!

I must not have good taste in perfumes, but my hubby seems to think so!

Rapture made by Victoria's Secret and it is the only reason that I ever go into that store. After all they don't have anything that fits me!

Description from the web site:

Our bold blend of freesia, jasmine, orange blossom and amber. Domestic.
Fragrance type: vanilla oriental

Top notes: citrus, orange blossom

Middles notes: freesia, jasmine, rose

Low notes: amber, musk, vanilla
Now I loved a scent that I wore in high school in the 1980's. It is no longer made and I dearly miss it. It was called Woman and was made by Jordache.

Victoria's Secret used to have this body spray that I think was called citrus something. It was like orange, vanilla... I can't explain what was in it but it smelled like summer and swimming and just so clean. I loved it but can't find it anymore (and of course, since I can't recall what it's called, it's not making finding it any easier...)

My favorite right now and has been for a while is CoolWater, another I like a lot is Pink-Victoria Secret as well as their body spray Love Spell. I also like Curve, Candies, Glow-JLo

OH GEEZ Jill.....LOL.........It was called JEWELED CITRUS. It was the best! I still use Victoria Secret Vanilla Lace and Amber Romance. (lotion and body spray) I like to layer the two together. I am one that can't stand strong smells of any kind.

I tried Bath and Body works but something in their formula made me nauseous. (yes, I am that sensitive to certain smells)

I get so many compliments..........But the Jeweled Citrus was wonderful too. I layered that with Vanilla Lace...........incredible.

They discontinued the Vanilla for a while and I freaked. Guess a lot of other people did too because it wasn't long until it came back.

I am very sensitive to frgrance and I don't normally wear any colognes or perfumes, just for that very reason. I work in customer service and when customers come in smelling like they showered in their perfumes, I nearly pass out and start sneezing!! :new_shocked:
default_wacko.png
: It's not even that I dont like their "scent", its that overpowering me with it that nearly knocks me out!

Tracy wears one perfume, which I do like a lot, especially since she uses it very sparingly...Opium by Yves Saint Laurent.

I wish I wasnt so sensitive, because there are a lot of scents I do like...*sigh*
