"Mods if you have to delete this I understand but it is on the rescue page also

I keep thinking about all of this and it breaks my heart. I know November was scheduled for the auction but how bout if we all donate something now! We have artists, soapers, jewelry makers, seamstresses, quilters and Lord knows what all else could be sold to generate the money needed for the horse and for those yet to come I'm sure.

I've listed a few things on the CMHR Auction site and encourage you to do so also. Kick in the shipping for free. I wish I had $100s but I don't but I do have things I can sell and ALL money generated from those sales will go to CMHR.

Care to join me?

I will be listing some things in the next few days.

I have some older Miniature Horse Worlds, and probably a lot other nice things. I just hope the site can get some views so that people know there are some GREAT things to have for a GREAT cause. Christmas is coming, and why not kill two birds w/one stone, Christmas shop plus help Chances raise the funds to help these and other horses that need it.

If any horse purchased from me in October from my sales list,

I will give $100 of the purchase price to CMHR.

I will join REO with that promise- either of my horses that sells will send $100 to CMHR for help here....!!

:aktion033: That's the spirit! :aktion033: C'mon add some stuff to that auction on CMHR, clean out your tack rooms, closets and stuff! Surely the crafty folk will help. Just one item makes a difference. I ended up putting the link from the main forum on my webpage and and even "nonequine folk" are emailing me for more info so they can help!

I have lots of old MHWs & Journals I'll put up for auction for the cause, soon.

: They are complete sets....going back to 1990 (the older ones I am keeping) Will probably offer them as sets by years.

:aktion033: Hooray! Thanks REO and HGFarm! I'll look through my tack shed to see what I can sell. (But I'm a total novice with auctions...guess I'll have to learn!

Dimimore...how would I go about donating things for the auction?? Please advise where this information resides and I'll go look it up. Thanks!

Heck I will match that. If I sell any of my horses (and because of my mom having cancer and having to be out of state so much my sales list is very big now) from now until WHENEVER I donate $200.00 per horse sold. :aktion033: :aktion033:

And I would happily take that gelding with the bad eye. My vet is ALWAYS up for a challenge. And Jessie up to alot of loving.

I went to the LB Auction site, there on the left side is the listing of auction clasifications..go to CMHR FUND RAISING, then click on it, then you will see :Items up for Auction here, click on it and follow the directions. I wish I knew how to make the $$ go directly to CMHR but my PP acct can send immediately what is sold. So go forth and donate, thanks everyone. Oh heck here's the link, it's easier eh?

BTW those small monetary donations are welcome too I bet.

PLEASE READ BEFORE posting to the auction!!! It has always been the custom and the agreement between CMHR and the LB Last Chance Auction that all items posted for CMHR go under one single category and listed under one name, the one assigned to the CMHR. They have someone that posts the auctions. Normally, as has always been the way in the past, people send pics and info to the person in charge of listing the auctions for CMHR, then they post the items and payment for items is made directly to CMHR, and the donor pays the shipping to send item to winner.

This is the ONLY way that it can be done so things go directly through CMHR, and ALSO, if NOT done in this manner, than the people posting the listings themselves are liable for paying to the auction, any end seller fees or other associated fees and costs to list the items.

It is, and always has been, the policy of the LB Last Chance Auction to give CMHR TOTALLY FREE, 100% use of the auction for raising funds, but ONLY when done in accordance with the terms as set out above.

Thanks for the clarification, Mona. Boy, that sounds way easier! All I have to do is ship it to the winner and not worry about collecting payment, right? Whew!

mmmm well that could cause a problem for me. I already spoke to Marty on the phone earlier this evening and said I was willing to donate alot of product to CMHR for fundraising but wanted to ship what I was donating to a member of CMHR in the U.S. If I am reading you correctly Mona, you are saying I would send picture of items and then ship to the winner on the auction. That may cause a problem in away for me because when I shipped something from here to someone in NY as a "gift" the shipping alone was as high as the value of the products... so if I ship something much further, it would be above the cost of the item for me to ship

: I thought it would be easier to pay one shipping charge to someone in the U.S. and perhaps shipping charges would be less. I thought the person who was successful in bidding paid the shipping and if it was from the U.S. the cost would be much less and make more sense. I am confused but I am also exhausted and tired, lol.

Yes Silver Dollar, you are right.

Danielle, I know the buyer USUALLY pays the shipping but it is just the way the auction has been set up for the free use for CMHR, so that CMHR is not actually out money for shiiping. I know in your case, it is different, but this is normally how it works.

If CMHR sells something that someone has donated, the donor holds the donated item until the auction ends. CMHR notifies the donor once CMHR have received payment, thus telling them "OK, it is now OK to send item". Donor pays the shipping to send the item to wonner. That way, donor does not have to pay shipping to send to a CMHR member, and then CMHR would need to reship it to the winner.

Maybe if you can find someone to ship the bulk load to from CMHR, whyen they post your auctions, they can make a special note that buyer must pay shipping, or set a speciific fee for shipping, under special circumstances.

Hmmm....ok I did know this but who does it and I figured the BOD of CMHR was swamped and didn't need one more chore. I don't mind paying the fees or the shipping. IF this is still not acceptable then who is the person? I really think this once an exception could be made. Ive had several folks ask how to load and yes I showed them how. If the CMHR and you would rather it be done the other way please show us the way then. I really don't see the harm. I auction it, get paid, all money gets put into the CMHR PayPal acct and I send the item immediately upon pymt at my expense and pay you the fees. As for Dannielle things why couldn't she just send a big box to whomever lists and pay for the shipping needed from there, yes doube shipping but the horses are worth it. jmho

I did not say it CAN'T be done...I am saying this is how we have always agreed to work it in the past. You can contact Gini Acton and ask her how CMHR wishes to act on this. But just so everyone knows, I won't be going through a pile of accounts to reimburse selling fees. If you sell in your name, you have to pay your account. And as I already explained in my note above to Danielle, yes, I think they can make an exception to the rule.

Great idea!

Ginny
This quote is from our CMHR president concerning an auction.

I'm not mad Mona, just cranky this morning with not enough sleep. Gini Acton is in ALASKA! The other BOD members I assume are consumed by this event, thus my willingness to pay the fees, pay the shipping and no problem. I suggested an auction a couple weeks ago but as said Gini is away for 25 more days...CMHR needs money now.

SO if folks would quibble over... what's my bill maybe $2.00?... then they don't have to post. I think your auction is superb, your fees amazingly low and folks most likely will not mind the wee fees. Now IF I am wrong I apologize alot and any CMHR BOD person can direct me to the correct way OR if someone wants me to list things for them as long as they pay shipping I'm cool with that. Any takers PM dimimore.

This would be the way to go. Contact Gini(I know she is in Alaska, but she is not out of touch where email or PMs go) and ask her if you can do this, and get the account login info from her provately if she is in agreement.

Okey dokey...Gini!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PM sent.
