Trust me, Kathy..... My tongue was in my cheek when I brought up Madras!

We used to think of Prineville the same way as you.....you know what the joke about Prineville used to be, don't you?

"When folks in Prineville went to do their Family Tree, all they could come up with was a TRUNK!"

Now, I'm finding myself shopping there, Bri is going to school there......and I have to admit it has changed.

We just got back from looking at that 153 acres I mentioned the other night. It is about 5 miles north of downtown Prineville. We are actually considering it. Can't imagine moving though as you know, I love where we are but the encroachment is killing me and the pasture sure is inviting.

: We'll see how it goes as alot of things have to fall into place to make it happen. The wheels are turning anyway.

Does your daughter go to CCCS in town? Maybe we need to carpool.

Debra -- Yes, Bri is attending Crook Co. Christian. It's tiny and we are very pleased with it.

When you can, tell us more about the acreage you're looking at......We looked out that direction too - before buying where we are. I bet Kathy would like to know too, as she'll be on a property search within the year(?)

Kate goes to CCCS too everyday for three hours. Maybe a morning commute is in the works.

I wish you would stop telling everyone how beautiful it is in Oregon as those California people are starting to listen.

Kathy-The Cascades are just as pretty on the other side without the lava ground and bad weather. More rain but lush green pastures and a view of the mountains. Much cheaper too.

<<I have a view of Trojan in the winter... so I like your view much, much better!!>>

Not for long, Shari...they'll begin demolishing Trojan very soon - YAY!!! That has been such a blight on the landscape.

When you all purchase your mini compound on the dry side, be sure to build some bunkhouses for visitors...I love visiting there, but I was born with moss behind my ears and could never permanently leave the lush, green rainforest.

(And if I can say that after this past week of non-stop rain and flood-stage rivers, I really mean it! I'm going to ask our farrier if he can outfit our guys with horse galoshes...)
