What is it with this week. I've had terrible news all along!

First, on Saturday my farrier (and friend) suffered a massive heart attack and passed away. He was supposed to be at my house this Monday. He apparently seemed in fine fettle, I guess his number was up! He will be terribly missed throughout the horse world here in Ontario as he was the best farrier bar none! R.I.P. Wayne Cochrane, I will think of you fondly.

Just got a call from another friend, that a mutual friend was in the hospital with crushed spine and technically brain dead from a snowmobile accident last nite. Poor guy..a really nice fellow with a younger son! What a shame. I imagine I will be attending another funeral shortly.

It just seems that this week sucks so far and it's only Wednesday. I guess I am suffering the "creeps" or foreboding or whatever you call it..seems far to much tragedy is too close to my home..and it seems to affect me more than before..I worry so much now about my family and friends!

Thanks for listening!

Kim

Oh dear, not good Kimmy. You just never know do you when your time is up. They reported a snowmobile accident on the news last week where an entire family died. They must be dangerous.

They say bad things happen in threes so watch it.

Things are bound to look up for you and soon I hope.

Makes you appreciate life doesn't it?? I'm sorry about your friends. Prayers and thoughts going your way.

Wow, that's tough! I know what you mean though. We lost our 30 year old Arab Bo at the beginning of November, just as we were getting over that a friend of ours with a lot of medical problems was found dead in her apartment of a massive heart attack, and when Mom called an old family friend to commiserate we found her in tears because her mom had been diagnosed and died of a brain tumor within a two week period. Yuck! Mom got so she couldn't walk by me without hugging me like I was never coming back.

And just this last week our farrier's wife's brother died in a car wreck on a bad highway out here, so it isn't over yet. Brrr. ::shivers::

Oh, Kim! I'm so sorry to hear all your sad news. Our sympathies and condolences go out to you, your friends and their families.

I would prefer to think that Marty is wrong about the things happening in threes......

Take care, my dear friend.

:no: im so sorry for your loss {{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}

Oh, how awful

It really makes you sit up when you get such bad news so close to home.

I hope this is the end of your bad news and that 2006 is a good year fro you!

I know what you mean Kim. I called Diane (friend) around 6 p.m on Saturday to have her husband say to me "did Devon call you yet" and I said "no, why?". He said "oh I will let Diane tell you".... which freaked me out because I thought perhaps something had happened to Devon's dad. He is the guy where we use to board our horses when we lived in Russell. Anyway Diane got on the phone and told me about Wayne

 . What an absolute shock. Wayne use to do be our farrier for our horses when we were at the boarding stable. Then I asked Diane how she was doing. She went for some test a week ago  , she has to go in for radical surgery, they are suspecting "cancer" . Kim, not sure if you know Diane, she lives down the street from Don

Kim, wanted to ask. Is there a way to sponsor the roadhorse class in Kars this year. I would like to sponsor the class and provide a trophy as well in Wayne's name. Let me know

Danielle..

What a wonderful idea! Kars Horse Show will be run by Carolann Clark again this year. She would be the one to talk to ... his funeral is today at 2:00 pm in Richmond at St. Paul's Church.

My friend on the snowmobile didn't make it. I am most terribly upset by this..what a shame!

Kim
