I'm thinking of you Liz. I hate that you are going through this. We are all here for you.

((((Liz & Gramma Pony/Bet's))))) When it is time, you will know, and I have no doubt do the right thing by your beloved Gramma Pony -- Godspeed, sweet girl, when it is time, you will be frolicking in chest deep fresh grass with many Angel babies to watch over and keep safe.

Mt heart is breaking for you Liz, but you have been such a wonderful keeper for such a special mare

Hugs (( ))))

Stacy

Thinking of you, it's never easy to make that kind of decision, but I pray you will experience peace in whatever path you choose. Gramma Pony will let you know when it is time.

When it is her time, she will be wonderful "mother" to all the lost foals in heaven!

((((HUGS))))

My Dearest Gramma Pony and Liz our thoughts and Prayers are with you!! We love you both so much!! Your Grandson Rocket and Gina!! Rocket is in my Avitar and is Gramma's Grandson!!

It is a sad fact the you can't completely "un-do" the damage done by ignorance or neglect. Her life was shortened by her earlier condition and lengthened by your care. I am glad you have had so many good years with her and for her. She sounds like a good old soul.

Liz-

This is certainly not the news I wanted to get up to this morning. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Gramma Pony as you face this difficult time. Feel comfort in knowing that she has had a long wonderful life and when it is her time she will be taking care of those who have gone before her. ((((((Hugs))))))

Letting go, and knowing when it's time, has got to be one of the hardest things we, as humans, are faced with when we love something so much. Please know that those of us who have been there hold you both in our hearts.

I'm so sorry to hear this. She will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Kim

Prayers to ease your aching heart. I know to well how much it hurts when one of our pets is in this kind of distress. Prays for Grandma Pony and you Liz.

I am sorry to hear that Liz. Gramma Pony is a treasure to be sure! I have never been through this with a horse, only with a 21 year old cat. I am thinking about you and Gramma Pony!

My heart goes out to you and your beloved Gramma Pony. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Holding the light, keeping the hope, that with the dawn she is either better or at peace. Love and hugs Liz.

Liz - My thoughts are with you and Gramma Pony today ... you have been such a blessing for her, and I know she is very thankful.

Liz,

Art and I are very sorry...Know that you give her love and peace in her heart and soul. I am sure she loves you as much as you love her....Theresa

Liz,

My thoughts of support and care are with you and your beloved old mare. Whether we want to or not, we are faced with the limits of our much-loved animals' lives. Your loving care has NO DOUBT, extended Gramma Pony's; she has lived a still-unusally long life, the last 13 in your wonderful care. No matter how this comes to conclusion, celebrate the JOY of having her in your lives, for that is what is truly important...

Here is a quote I saved from another forum where those who love and care for horses reside; I thought it very appropo....

"We who surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Yet we would live no other way, and we cherish memory as the only certain immortality."

Irving Townsend

Thinking of you and Gramma with love,

Margo

Oh gosh,

I hate to hear this, I have followed this mares history on the forum. I know how devasted you must be, that you have provided so well for her in her late years. She has given you many fond memories. I will pray for you both as her time nears.

Sincerely,

Beth

Thanks again, all. It makes me happy to know that she has the attention of so many.

A couple of you out there even have grandkids (mgranch, Kendra (though I know Jack lives with a new family, he was yours for a long time)) and know they are special horses.

It's funny but I have about the same photo of each of her grandfoals born here. The new baby between Gramma and Cherry, and Gramma would run her little legs off to make sure she kept that baby between herself and her daughter, and when Cherry wanted time off, Gramma would stand over the sleeping pile of fur. Not only her own grandbabies, but the others that happened along, too.

I suppose ultimately that the foals lost this year will be greeted by the nicker of the very best babysitter, EVER. She loves her job.

She is in the same mode this morning, just standing quietly. I think she is waiting. I am in awe of her stamina. I have not seen her lie down in days. I wish she would, though. I would pick her up when she was done resting.

I've tried force feeding her, but I suppose this could not be more clear. I don't want to wait "too long" for my own sake.

Liz
