Hall of Fame: Modern vs. Modern Pleasure?

I was talking to Jennifer of SweetOpal and she mentioned that Modern ponies now have different HOF divisions... Modern and Modern Pleasure.

She said if you show your horse as a Modern, and then as a Modern Pleasure, the points go into the different categories they aren't lumped together any more.

Is this true? Are they separate now? When I look on the Show Record area of the ASPC website, I see Classic, Foundation, and Modern but no Modern Pleasure.

I just bought a filly that has been shown this year in Modern Pleasure but her points are under "Modern" as far as I can tell.

I know it was passed in Committee at Convention last year to do all four but not sure what the BOD did with it from there. Maybe Belinda can clarify.

Thank you Lewella, I knew I wasn't crazy, that is exactly how I remembered it. I do see that my points went this year again towards the Modern and not the pleasure, perhaps it has something to do with the program, but I was pretty sure that it was discussed and passed at the 06' convention.

Maybe they don't have the program "up to speed" yet. It would only make sense to separate them! Hopefully they get it all worked out soon, then.

Hi: Yes, at Convention last year, it was passed that the points from the various divisions are no longer lumped together. I know it caused a lot of consternation amongst the Foundation people, because some shows only offered Classic classes and sometimes a Foundation animal went oversized after showing in Foundation then moved to Classic to finish. Prior to that, you could show in both Foundation and Classic and the points, wins would be added together for the HOF. Before there was just Classic or Modern HOF, but now there are four divisions for HOF. Foundation, Classic, Modern and Modern Pleasure. Ta, Shirlee

I have a question: I have a mare that I showed one year (before it was voted to seperate points) as a Classic and as a Foundation. She earned several points in both divisions, but they are lumped under Classic. This coming year, I plan to show her only Foundation. Can I get those points she earned in her Foundation class rolled under the Foundation HOF?

Carin they should have separated them - they did Sierra's. She had 2 HOF Classic and 5 HOF Foundations and all her points were mixed up. They split it all when they did the divisions.

Hi: I could be wrong on this, and it wouldn't be the first time, believe me, but it was my understanding, on the mingled points/wins, that you could request that they all be folded over into one division, provided they were won before the changes. Ta, Shirlee

I see now all our points on Jet were split

We are going to switch and show him Classic next year as I think he is going to outgrow foundation and there are barely any foundation geldings to compete against. We like many showing in Foundation had to show in both foundation and classic as some shows did not offer Foundation. This really hurts!

Hey I know how you feel. I have a mare that I bought as a 3 year old. She had 2 grands. I showed her and got 5 more, but she still needs points as the foundation classes are not that big. So now they split the foundation/classic (years after her first show when there wasn't a foundation class) and she loses the 2 grands and 19 points (because the classic WAS a big class). So now we're stuck with about 39 points . . . and she just had colic surgery so who knows if she will show again. But hey - she has 7 grands and she's still here.
