So what are you doing for Halloween? What are you going to dress as?

I love Halloween. We don't get trick or treaters, to far out in the boonies. If we did, I would just stay home, dress up and pass out candy. I loved that. When we first got married, we lived in an apartment complex and Halloween was so much fun, I enjoyed seeing all the kids dressed up.

Last year we went to a haunted house and then to a party at a local bar, it was fun but not as much as passing out candy. Last year I was an old west saloon girl.

I bought a "I dream of Jeannie" costume a while back. Now though, I'm thinking I don't want to be that...I will freeze my buns off. I think we are passing the hauted house this year and just go to a friend's bar and hang out there.

So what are you going to be and where are you going?

I thought of my new costume....caribou barbie (I just read a thread where Jill said she was going to name her next filly that, I thought, perfect costume)...I've got everything I need except the glasses, my hair is even the same color as Sarah's. I don't know where I'm going to get those glasses though...I've heard they are a hot item and hard to find.

I'm still at the age that I can trick or treat, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the past 2 years I have went with a large group of friend, usually about 10 of us. I'm even having some friends from out of town come up, also because its my birhtday weekend!

I plan to go as a doctor, got all the stuff; its very handy to have a nurse for a mom!!

Mia still hasn't nailed her choice down and we'll base Zac's costume on hers. She'd better get with it huh? Caribou barbie~ROFL!!

My son is 15 and has NO interest...

My daugther Cassidy is gonna be Sharpay from High School Musical... She was Gabriella last year. She LOVES this Disney show! High School Musical 3 comes out this Friday, so she and I are going. I bought movie tickets online to ensure we get in-as it will sell out...

I'm gonna be at the shop! Doing treats! I wonder should I dress up?

Ha ha Thanks Laura, it would be a first since my kids were littles like yours. Being a metaphysical shop for Reiki and stones and such maybe I should be a gypsy?

absolutely you should dress up...that makes it more fun!

I was serious about the caribou barbie...I was thinking one of my business suits/skirts, hair in a bun like thing, the glasses, with a sash that says "caribou barbie" or "Alaska", I was going to use a toy gun and my dog's toy (which is a large stuffed animal moose), I even have a flag pin that I could put on my lapel...hubby says...you don't want to get in a political arguement with a drunk at the bar....he's probably right...I guess I'll be the jeannie..it will be less stressful, plus I might get mistaken for Tina Fey! (for the record, I do like Palin...not that it matters)

I am 39...too old to go trick or treating???? I guess so...darn! I need to try on my jeannie outfit...I think I've put on a couple pounds since I bought it, it might not fit

Anyone else??

Well we start next weekend. On Saturday night we will be going to a friends house that is a pirotechnic and he uses all his fireworks from the whole year that he has left over and sets the off for the town of Westhampton. It will be Noah's 6th birthday so they will do something special for him. Sunday will be his party for our family. Then on Halloween they kids will go trick or treating. Cassidy will be using the fairycostume that I made her for the Linda Best Benefit show, Noah will be a shark. I actually got him the costume last year for school and it still fits, which is nice as I don't have the money to buy or make costumes right now. I love Halloween.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

By boyfriend and i will be going to my parents "party" witch is us, my parents, my brothers and my eldest brothers finace, and maybe my uncle. (big party eh?

oh ya and my dog, my parents dog and my brothers dog.

we will have an over the top dinner planned weeks ahead by my mom. and then handout candy to kids, when they all leave we will watch some scary movies.

It works for us, neither of us is really into getting drunk at some strangers house wearing a costume thing that our peers are.

we are not dressing up this year. might pick up a funny hat or something form the dollar store. the reason is we are both feeling under the weather, don't have a lot of time left to put something together after work/school. and we are running low on "fun" money since I went way out of my saddle budget (but it was well worth it :p).

We did however get our dog a costume!

He is a lion we got him one of those little kids costumes that look like this

and with a few cuts and snips in the fabric made it to fit him. Its really cute! i will have to post some photos. We still have a few more things to fix on it so it will fit him better before the big night.

I'm going to be a bigger, crazier version of... well, me. I've got a fat suit to cover with a long pink and white polka dot dress. I've got white and pink polka dot dog tennis shoes, pink "cat" style glasses, plus a clunky pink plastic pearl necklace and a matching bracelet with a clicker attached. My hair will be a mess. I'll be carrying a paw print bag with dog training stuff in it including "dog treats" to offer and eat in front of everyone. I'll also be carrying a stuffed Yorkie and a Lost Dog sign. My "lost dog" will be stuck to my butt.

That is AWESOME!!!!!!

Finally a HALLOWEEN THREAD YAY!!!!!!!!! Thanks Sonja!

When the kids were little I'd dress up as a witch and dive off the roof into a pile of leaves.........well, the roof is very low and the pile was very large. But now a days, I'd bust my rear and probably cave the roof in so I gave that up a few years ago.

Well I'm scary enough with out a costume but I'm going to be...... guess.........Lily Munster on Jennie Craig of course! Its very fitting considering my creaky old house the money pit! I'll be picking up some dry ice and adding a bunch of cobwebs and spiders to the front porch among the rest of the decorations. Dan just put up some really neet orange and purple lights the other day.

First I'll be in town at our store because the little kids have a parade and then go to all the stores Trick or Treating so I'll be handing out treats down there from 3:00 to 5:00.

Then rush home and prepare for the kids around here. Not many anymore this side of the mountain but they will come from the other side. Heck, everyone knows by now we give full size candy bars! Dan will need to get home early and carve a pumpkin too I better remind him.

The hus and I will make junk food for ourselves and watch something horribly scarey on TV which we do every year while we take turns getting the door. I'll get myself so scared I won't be able to sleep at all most likely.

Dan's already been making the rounds to some haunted houses and on Halloween night I think he and his buddies are going to volunteer as a monster for the one up here. It should be a fun night.
