hard wood floors

We ripped up the carpet and lanolium under that in our guest bedroom to find we have REAL hardwood floors

So we started the trek to refinishing it. I am happy to say we reached our goal of sanding, staining, and varnishing the floors. So whatcha think

Next week we will buy the new trim but I can't decide what to stain or paint the trim. We are going for the western/rodeo theme. The wainscoating is feux leather that we are going to either buy or I might make using paper bags and paint/stain (saw it on trading spaces). Then we are painting ranch brands in the wall. Can you tell I am excited

We do all flooring for a living. You name it, we do it.

We finally invested some $15 grand in the refinishing equipment also and that is what I am in charge of mostly, running our re-finishing crew. Oh it's just peachy doing that. The guys are real funny. I love pretending to boss them around. It is just amazing to peel off old flooring and see these old charming floors come back to life. I love it. I just love wood! It's always so cozy and warm. That was a very big job and I admire your spunk for doing it. Now you can relax and admire your work.

You should see my floors here~! They are the biggest diaster you have ever seen. I keep telling Jerry that I do hope the Christmas lights succeed in blowing up this old house because then I hope I will finally get some decent hardwood in here too. I'm going for a very light blonde color and because of the size of the rooms I want it on a diagnal and to try to keep these old walls bright in here. I like golden oak but right now I'd settle for anything other than these stinking dirty carpets.

We have hardwood floors throughout our house except in the bathrooms and in the kitchen (where we put wood laminate). The wood floors are one of my favorite parts of our house
