Enjoy him I'm sure he is very very handsome!

Happy to hear that he arrived safely and is settled in! We'll be looking for pictures later. Since I'm in Missouri too, maybe I'll see you at the Carthage show?!!

WOW!!!

Steak-n-Shake arrived at 4 this morning. He came off the trailer like a pro, went right to his stall, dove into his hay, drank, pooped, and rolled. He didn't sweat, didn't seem like he was fretting about being in a new place, he just seem excited. He settled in so nicely I can hardly believe it. I knelt with him in the stall and we traded 'getting to know you' breaths and then he got a good scratching.

I can't get over how upright he is. He has a really nice shoulder, comes out of it well with his neck, and looks like he will be a blast to show. I can't wait until tomorrow (well, I guess that would be later today...sleep deprivation is setting in) so I can see him move! I'll get some photos up soon. This is so exciting.

Thanks for all the support. This is going to be a really neat adventure.

Thanks for that, this is so much fun. I'm chugging some coffee and then I'm gitting the road.

Pam, we do plan to go the shows that the Show-Me Little club is sponsoring in Colombia, however we won't be showing at the first two, I'm sure. I want some time to get to know him before we get really serious about being trained. I did not know about the show in Carthage, I'll have to check that out. The closes I've been to a miniature horse show is the Touch Of Class show that I watched online recently. I want to go see what I'm trying to accomplish before I actually take Steak-n-Shake out. We also are looking to buy a miniature trailer and we need to get a truck or SUV to pull it with.

I guess your taste is as good as we thought it was!

He sounds totally awesome and I think at this point we're almost as excited as you are about him getting there. Can't wait for the pictures and updates as you get to know each other!

Congratulations that SteaK N' Shake finally met his new momma.

Steak N' Shake already knows how to stand up for halter, its all about how you do the tapping of his front feet out. He will be a kick butt gelding for you, especially in driving, he is a modern in a miniature body. He was one of my favorites that Taylors have shown.

Good Luck and keep us posted

It's not Steak-n-Shake I'm worried about getting trained, it's his new momma that needs the training.

I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to showing a miniature. I'm looking forward to the first show next month so that I can see what these guys actually look like in the show ring. Today I am looking forward to seeing him out and moving. It was straight off the trailer and right to his stall last night because he had such a long trip and was in a foreign land for him.

Leia, you are too funny. I am looking forward to exchanging stories of our new geldings with each other this year.

I will get some photos up soon.

We are tossing around ideas now for a barn name for him because Steak-n-Shake is such a mouthful (no pun intended) and it is against something in my base nature to call him Steak when I have a dog that is only 4 inches smaller than he is. We don't want Nigel getting any ideas. lol

My gelding-to-be is currently suffering from major testosterone poisoning. He knows better than to try much with me but yesterday he finally got up the nerve to attempt to mount my 33 year old Arabian!

Spyder put up with the literal @ss-biting, flank-biting, and outright disrespect for a good ten minutes but feeling little tiny hooves on his rump was the last straw.

Luckily for baby he just bumped his butt at him a couple of times as he was too sore to really kick but I told Turbo he had a death wish.

Oh dear. *wipes tears of laughter off her face* No, "Steak" won't do. How about the obvious- "Shaker?"

I have never show at a miniature sanctioned show either! I showed big appys years ago, and I showed our pintaloosa stallion at a 'color' show once. So this will be new for me too! I have, however, gone to some shows to watch and try to learn. LOL
