I just want to state that many, many people emailed and PM'd me and I told them all who these jokers were and I can't believe how many people had trouble with the same company. Boy, how are we supposed to know. I know Worleys, Sharrway, some of the more popular ones are good but they don't come to WI very often. WI is a little off the beaten path for along of transport people. But I have written down any that people recommend and also the ones that people have told me there own "lousy hauler" stories so hopefully, I won't be reccomending some of these clowns to my buyers in the future. I'll just be more careful in the future. I'm glad Fiona started this thread and it sure is good to see the people reaching out to help, yuh, Tracy, you know where my hill is, come on to WI and I'll fix you up with another mini. LOL

I had problems with the same guy/company..since the link is on Mary Lous Page I did let her know about it..she said I was the first One ever complained..why don't you guys let her know? It does reflect on her page if she advertises for them..

OK OK you can add me to this list. They kept me waiting for over a week too. No communications, no emails or phone calls or cell phones, just a big fat nothing. They were M I A with a whole trailer load of horses and nobody knew where they were. They had a horse on there just 7 hours away and took them 8 stupid days to get him to me. Duh.

I think that everyone on this list should call them (that's if anyone will ever answer their phone) and complain directly to them and tell them the word is out about them and then maybe they will be able to turn themselves around and put someone that knows what they are doing in charge.

I highly recommend Hauled Wright.

I had them here twice and they were very good. They were on time the first time. The second time they were a day off schedule but kept in very close phone contact with me from the day I booked them. Their dispatcher is WONDERFUL!

I've been very happy with Sharraway, Worley and Cox Equine. Cox has always been able to top any quote I got from anyone and always the horses are shipped quickly. Once I had a weanling in Ill to come to me in MA and when I called Cox he said "send deposit today, we'll pick him up tomorrow and you'll have him in 2 days" and I did!

Sorry your having troubles with the shipper- glad you got your deposit back. Sure causes a lot of anxiety not knowing where your mini babies are!

By the posts I'm sure I know who this is. A yearling I sold earlier this year was on their trailer. This person was supposed to be here on a Friday afternoon and showed up on Sunday at 3am. I know they have to make stops. Especially, due to weather, etc. Just tell me that. At one point they told me they were in the county I live in. I told them they should be here in 20 minutes. They showed up 2 hours later. I have a major problem with a lack of comminucation and then of course, not being honest. It took them 4 days to get her to her destination. This trip should never have been that long. I would not have put her through that if I had known. I sent a week's worth of feed with her bagged in baggies and written descriptions on each bag as to what the feed was and how much was in it so that she could be fed on the trip. The leftover bags were to be given to her destination for a changeover. Well, no food was dropped off. I have no idea what happend to it.

Deb is right I have the horror story of all horror stories. I contacted a transporter and booked a transport from NY to Maine. They told me on a Friday that they would pick the horse up on Monday and would have her and her foal here late in the day on Mon or early Tues. Debs got Tech ready and no hauler showed up I tried calling them and calling them and finally Tues morning I reached the dispatcher and she said they had broken down but they would be at Debs on Friday so we wait until Fri and no communication after many e-mails and phone calls to NY I prepaid the shipping so money was NOT an issue. I mean all of the shipping costs up front. A week went by and again I finally reach them and they are STILL broken down so I ask them when they think they might be back on the road well it will be another week because now they are going to pick up horses that were scheduled after mine to try to catch up. I waited another week now its been a month and still no communication and I cant reach them at all so I arrange for another hauler. Finally I reach them and tell them that I have arranged for another hauler and I want my money back and to make a long story shorter I never did get my money back.

But I will concur with the recommendation for Al Ziegler he has brought two horses to me one from Oklahoma and one from Indiana and they are wonderful about keeping in touch and taking good care of the horses. I do believe he makes a trip to Maine once a week from April through September bringing big horses in and he will save the front free stall for minis if he gets a call for that. The only draw back was that they arrived early at 5:30 in the morning but he had called and let me know that.

It gets easier to get people to travel to Maine once the weather improves but even Ziegler doesnt come this way after late October early November I dont think.

I wish you luck

Thanks Debbie, I LOVE this mare. She is the sweetest thing, I am breeding her right now to Rambo. She has a LOT of Gold Melody Boy Breeding. Honeysuckle Knoll Regencys Radience on my web site and we call her Glow. I`ll be excited to see this foal in 07!! Gosh I just got 4 foals and already looking forward to next year.

I haven't read the whole thread, but wanted to add that we ahve used

All-State Horse Exress to bring a horse from Colorado and one from Wyoming to Alabama. Both arrived in great shape and they were easy to deal with.

We have also used Bob Hubbard Horse Transportation, Inc. to move a pair of horses from AL to Los Angeles.

I would recommend either of them.

We used Sharrway to move everything from PA to TX. Nice people, and once I explained I was unemployed and needed to move NOW they got right here on time. Of course, we needed to hotshot TWO trips! But everyone made it safe and sound. :bgrin I wouldn't hesitate to use them again!
