So I have been in Estes Park since Wednesday. My parents refused to leave me home, so I was stuck going up there.

By our trip home to grab everything for the Estes Park Wool Market, I decided I needed someone with me. I called all my friends, but none of them could come up with me.

So I decided to bring Dealer up with me.

He stayed in the trailer for 3 days two nights. I took him out almost all during the day and we walked, practiced, trotted around and best of all, we met several nice people. He was the perfect little spokes horse for the miniature breed.

I got some laughs, some people told me that he was stupid, but mostly everyone was nice.

I found that MANY people will stare and point at you, and I had some fun by placing bets with myself on wether or not they come over. A lot of people did.

Some thought I was just stupid for bringing a horse to a fiber show, but who cares.

These are pictures from when we got home. Didn't get any at the Wool Market, it was soooo busy.

Pardon my appearance, I am tired.

And yes, I am standing in that picture without crutches. Thats right, I am walking. Look out world, here I come.

OK, the title of this really got my curiosity going! I used to go to Estes Park Wool Market for years and years..... had a vendor booth there. It is GREAT fun, even if you don't love fiber, because of all the animal shows - llamas, alpacas, goats, rabbits - I've even seen yaks there! And they have sheep dog trials too!! Talk about a blast -

But as for horses at a fiber show, well, I am a horsehair braider. I make all kinds of stuff out of horsehair, and yes, I have taken it to the Wool Market and sold it there. So to me, that means horses are "fiber producing animals" :risa_suelos: I find it perfectly appropriate to take a horse to a fiber show, so good for you!

Hey what the heck! Maybe you'll get someone thinking -- and the next thing we know someone will be on here asking about minis.......because they saw an adorable one at the Fiber Show!

You guys look like great ambassadors to me!

Hey why not. Sounds like you both enjoyed it! And I am also very glad you are doing better.

Why not?

When I was in CO; a fellow horse boarder spun her dog and horse's winter hair into yarn, then made sweaters and such from the yarn. The winter hair on a mini is usually abundant. [maybe you should have taken winter woolie pictures with you to show them all the fiber a mini produces in winter.

LOL! Too cute! I noticed you without anything on that knee.. YES! :aktion033: I am so happy for you! You look about 100 times better than a day or two after your surgery. Dealer is looking just as handsome as usual.

Yea, I have been stuck going up there for the past 4 years now and I really don't like it. I don't like alpacas and its bad enough to go and see them, but I am stuck there at least 3 days around them constantly.

Yea, rather boring. It was a LOT of fun having Dealer up there with me though. It would be cool to have people on here talking about minis.

I know I gave one of my friends the link to this forum since now she wants a mini.
