Can I use strips of fabric as "flags" so that the animals see where the fence is before they get to it?

[SIZE=12pt]Yes, either plastic strips or cloth but they cannot come in contact with anything or it will make the fence go to ground (not work). In the summer( summer??

) if the grass grows high enough to touch your wires it will also ground out

What I use on my elect fence is yarn, I go to walmart and get the yarn in white or yellow, rayon mix I think, I take it and wrap it around a legal size pad or regular pad length ways, and cut one end you will have hundreds of strips that way.

and take it fold it in half and loop it over the wire evey foot or so, lasts a long time and dries fast when wet.

works for me and is light enough to blow in the slightest wind. Hope that helps
