I did I did!!!

I found great homes for my babies that will promote them better than I ever could in the show ring. So that was a wonderful thing for my farm and horses.

Yep! We did!

We had two colt weanlings that sold no problem plus some others that also went to great homes! Nice and close so I can visit with them!!

It warms the heart to know that they are close and cared for!

Yep....one foal this year, sold at 3 weeks old for excellent price -- WITH written agreement as first opition should he ever be sold. First one I've even had for sale in over 4 years. Plus, buyer wants #2........and waiting for my 6 bred mares to foal

Me too! I had my yearling for sale, and she went to a wonderful, loving home!

I actually sold more than I had intended to! We got a standard donkey, sold him, sold 2 yearlings and 2 weanlings. Didn't want to sell one of the weanlings but he went to a good home with his best friend. Guess that worked out good. The other weanling, she is "for sale" but I'll keep her. The little mule could have been sold about 50x now but she really wants to stay here.

Yes had a wonderful year, put lots of horses in great homes. Sold everything I put up for sale (well minus my shetland mare whom I am still looking for the "right" home), but all 20 minis I put up for sale all went to wonderful new farms and I am very pleased. Could have sold several more, but since I am small breeder that is all I offered for sale and some of theses had to be pried out of my hands
biggrin.gif
but have started a waiting list and hope the 06 foals turn out to be wonderful and the ones of them I am able to part with find that perfect home as well.

We've had excellent sales this year with the horses going to wonderful homes and some heading for the show ring in 2006. Still have a couple on my sales list, but maybe I've saved the best for last?

I also have a waiting list for those wanting certain colors/patterns of foals in 2006. Anxiously awaiting those babies!

These last two years have been my best yet!

Of my 9 foals I only allowed myself to keep one, (my tiny probably homozygous red and white pinto filly, Strawberry Shortcake :)

The other 8 were all sold before they were weaned for my asking prices, and I was very happy with their new homes, many going to return customers also! :)

As usual..... I can't wait for foaling season! :)

I got one sold this year, striker.

The lady called me today also to let me know that he was getting gelded this wensday and she wanted to know if he had his tetnis shot yet. She said she couldnt be happier with him ..she just wished he was about 38'-40' instead of 34' or 35'. But she said he was doing good and is sending me pictures of him in a couple days as a new gelding!

Hello Everyone,

Although we are a small farm, we were very fortunate to sell three of our horses this year (and we only own 12). They all went to excellent homes -- our stallion (avator) was sold to New Zealand (our first international sale). What a wonderful experience. And we met new friends and were fortunate enough to also reacquaint ourselves with friends from over 20 years ago (when we were showing Shetland Sheepdogs!)

It was a wonderful year ....and we even had fun in the show ring! And bought two new horses! All in all, we were very blessed!

I sold quite a few, but have a bunch more to go. I may have to load some up and take to an auction, sure do hate to do that, as a lot of horses that sell that way seem to just disappear.

One international sale this month, a bred mare going to France. She was supposed to fly out last week, but there was a problem with the plane and she now is flying out on the 10th.

I haven't offered anything for sale yet, but I have a couple I "think about" in those terms. However, I did reach a milestone this year in that I free leased out two mares. That worked really well for me because I wasn't emotionally ready really to cut the apron strings, but also was not doing anything other than feeding and maintaining these two mares and they've gone on to live at a good home where they get lots of attention and kids to love on them. They're still mine and I can take them back if I want to, but do not anticipate that happening.

Marty, this was really a good idea! And it sounds like the 'down market' everyone has talked about the last year or so has turned around.

We had 8 foals this year and 7 sold. Tiny Oakie went to Canada, but I hear from his new 'mom' that he is doing well. Our big downer was the untimely death of Colors only 6 weeks after he arrived in Florida due to one of the hurricanes. That one still hurts to think about. We had retained breedings to him too.

His mom is bred back the same way so I have my fingers crossed for another just like him....soooo sweet!

Mark (Mark Of A Star) is still here and listed for sale on our web site, but he hasn't been advertised anywhere else.

He is now in show training and will be gelded soon (too big for a stallion). I'm really excited about taking a Skipper colt out.

I hope '06 is a good year for all of us!

You are too funny Erica!

You SOLD 20, and you consider yourself a "small" breeder. I always thought I was a "small" breeder, but I only have 9 minis, (currently)...and sell 1 - 4 minis a year (depending on how many foals I have). But then....I don't think I could handle any more.

No.

We had 1 filly (we are keeping) and one colt born this year.

The colt for sale is. Aggravation Acres Envious Ernie , in the avator .

But we did not try very hard. We put up a sign at the County Fair. (got 2 interested people. One couple did not think he would be tall enough for what they wanted, and the other had to sell a large horse before they could get a mini).

Then I put an ad in the area shopper about a month ago. Did not even get one phone call on him. But I had to work that weekend so might have missed one.

Have not tried the sale board. We decided to wait until spring now. Because he has bonded with the colt we bought in Oct. They are just too cute together.

No luck, here. I have one full-size filly to sell and I haven't had any luck. I don't plan to give her away, so she'll stay until the right buyer comes along.

Hehe, well I still call my self a small breeder as I have about 10 foals a year, I do have about 35 horses though, but in it for quality not quanity.........but last year I let some broodmares go and a few fillies and some geldings as well. I really only sell a few foals each year as I want to see how they are going to mature - Just like now I have kept back 4 fillies and a colt from last years foals (and only had 8 foals last year, sold DunIT to Jill, Peanut to Nancy and Julie to Ron)...........the one colt I have held back is going to be my show gelding and the 4 fillies I held back I have lots of people still wanting a show filly yet I can't decide if I really want to part with any of them or not.

NO. Horrible year. Only sold three, we really need to sell about seven more. I advertised monthy on LB saleboard, didn't get many nibbles.... fortunately we only bred six out of twelve mares this year, so we won't be totally overrun this spring....

Pretty good. I sold 3 colts and a mare that were never advertised and not even on my sales page or auctions. One colt was sold that we wanted to keep, but they fell in love with him and we changed our mind. A nice couple that are both vets and he has a great home! The mare was not for sale either, but never say never. Of course they all went to good homes!

I only have one colt for sale now.

I already have a waiting list for the foals we have coming.

I'm *thinking* of booking one outside mare to Lotto.
