I braved my first show in Midland, MI

Whew what a time I had! I didnt know if I would be able to go till late in the game so I started conditioning the boys a bit late but it worked out ok. I had a lot of help from some very dear friends of mine. I never would have been able to go if not for April (HafPint). She is the one who took us to the show. She helped me wash and polish the boys and she lent me all kinds of make up for them. She gave me advise and took time to help me out. So, I can not begin to thank her enough. I was so happy to ride along and show with such an outstanding individual.

I have all kinds of pictures so Im going to have to post a few times on this thread.

I was very fortunate to have help from my friend and neighbor Sara. She trains and shows the big guys in the big leagues! I have very limited experience clipping so I body clipped and she came over and did the boys faces for me. Thank you Sara!

Sara said it was actually easier doing their faces as she could stand right over them vs the Arabians she usually works with.

Waiting to show Kee was standing so nicely. So quiet. It was like the calm before the storm lol

Once in the ring, Kee was most interested in the strange horses behind him. He simply had to turn and see them. Well... we danced a lot and unfortunately didnt get to show the judges just how pretty we could be hee hee

Still managed a ribbon from one of the judges. I am still stunned. I joked to April that he took pity on us

I did Liberty with Elliot in the evening and I LOVED it!!

We got a 5th out of 19 horses I believe. I dont have pics of that though. I had someone hold my camcorder for me so I did get it on tape

Here is what he is capable of

Elliot and I had a "personal best" with our halter class. At home, I had a lot of trouble getting him to stand and stretch. At the show he was nervous and I figured I was going to have to focus more on one thing or the other this time around so his feet werent quite where they needed to be but he did pretty darn good actually standing and stretching his neck. I know it wasnt what it should have been but I was thrilled with him. Of course we will keep working on it.

Wendy couldnt get the best stretched pics of him because of where in the ring I had to stand. Mostly head on stuff.

As I mentioned, Wendy showed up on Sunday which was great as she helped a lot with pics and horses. We had several shows right on top of eachother. I know soon Wendy will be showing with us!!! So fun. She even helped me purchase a cart!

There are many more pics but they have horses in them that I do not personally own so I will wait and look into posting those after talking to their owners.

Thank you guys! I had a blast and loved seeing all of the minis. Seriously I was bouncing off the walls when I got there. All I wanted to do was walk the hallways and see all of the horses! It was mini heaven!

I am very proud of my boys and will keep on with them. Its a little intimidating going in against seasoned showers. I was in awe. I would love to post the video of Elliot but I dont know how to get it from the camcorder to the computer

You'd think I would know how to do something like that.

that is so cool...looks like you have some great friends(and nice horses). I went to my second show this past weekend(just a local one) It's a lot of fun and I love meeting all the new people
