Julie, I'm so sorry for your loss! It's always hard to lose them but some are just special from the first breath they draw.. We had a stallion do the same thing a few years ago - he nearly cleared the fence but got hung by his pastern. It was during the day and we were fortunate enough to catch it quickly.
