I find that I was biting off to much trying to teach them to do the job dependably. I think it would be better to specialize their training and just let them do what their specialty it. One for dishes, another to vacuum and fill the wood box, another to get the mail and answer the phone with a bit of expertise in bed making it he will go that far. The forth guy has to do the hard job, let the dogs in and out and feed them. He keeps wanting to eat the dog food after he serves it. Teaching them to act outside of their natural instincts just keeps getting harder and harder. Once he learned to make a good omelet he forgot how to flip the pancakes. Sure is going to be hard to get rich with this bunch.

Aw heck! I've been all wrong, I guess the big bucks is in piano and here I've been sending mine for violin lessons! *sigh*

Lisa, I am with you 100% on this. I also know what you mean about typing something and having someone completely turn it around, to read as they would LIKE it to read! I just had that happen to me too with someone on this forum, and then I got a very nasty email from them on top of it. Its just too bad there have to be people like this out there...especially in the mini world where most people are a wonderful caring group. I would not have sold him one either. Geese, I LOVE you idea of training...one for dishes, one for vacumming...YUP---my kind of minis!!..haha Corinne

Lisa, I also understoood exactly what you said. You said it clearly and very well. Quite a few months ago now I put on my "sale page" on my website a note exactly about what you are talking about here. If anyone here would like to use the wording I have used I give permission to any who wish to use it.

We at Dreamweaver Miniatures (Canada) have adopted the following sales policy:

The purchaser of any of our miniature horses will be obligated to sign a contract stating the miniature horse(s) being purchased from us will NOT be used as a service animal for the  sight impaired.  It is our strong personal belief, as well as a myriad of other miniature horse breeders, miniature horse owners and equine professionals, that even though the miniature horse is the smallest of equines and would lend itself in that respect to fulfilling such a role, that the very inherit nature of horses, predispose them to the “flight instinctâ€. Even the most quiet and “bomb†proof equine can get spooked, as a majority of owners would attest to,  and will “flee†away from what they perceive as a “danger†to them without considering the consequences to themselves or those around them.  With this genetic marker and in this type of situation this could lead to serious injury to either human or animal.  It is with the utmost respect that we have adopted this policy for the safety and well-being of our animals and clients.

Thank you.
