I got a hold of blank Matryoshka dolls

Well it will be a while before I finish these guys but I did play around with them a bit. I am using acrylics and its hard for me to draw the line between cartoony and realistic with them so its a little goofy. I want them to be caricatures. I think the out lines and the smiles will help. Right now they look very "blobish" but I will fix that as time goes on. I think my next ones should be bigger and more crammed on to the doll.

You might already know, but Ebay has a seller of these dolls, directly from Russia! I got a set and it has 15 inside ! i have not painted it yet as it is so cool just the way it is my idea will have to be GREAT and well planned. Check it out if you haven't already. Mine were very inexpensive and came quickly with newspaper from there too. very neat!!

It is so funny, they have Madonna, Brittney Spears, sports stars, Dora, all sorts of weird ones! Who knew!?

Wow those are really small. It says the biggest one is 2" tall. Can't imagine how tiny the smallest one is.

WOW! I just saw the 10 piece sets biggest one is 2 inches!!

That has to be a typo! The ones I have (15 piece set) are 5-6 inches and not very squatty, but the 10 set would be if only 2 inches and smaller. But I almost want to order it just to see how tiny the littlest one would be!!

i just love these nesting dolls. Just saw a farm set, with rooster, and chickens, too cute!! I could have a house full!

And did you see the prices on the really nice finely painted ones? Maybe you could make a fortune on yours!!

Thanks guys! They are a bit time consuming. I hope to keep practicing and get better with them. Again, Im used to doing realistic painting with acrylics so I have to get into the groove of making caricatures of them.
