Idiot moment

I have had a rough day. I stopped at the bank early this morning to make a withdrawal from the ATM and left my credit card in the machine...

I didn't realize it until noon. Thank God, I checked my account and there has been no activity on it since my withdrawal. But I do have to wait 7-10 business days for a replacement card.

Has anyone else ever done soething this irresponsible? I feel like such a moron. I'm usually so organized and methodical about the way I handle my banking. I almost never use an ATM. I guess I need to practice better habits when the rare occasion arises that I do use one. I'm just thankful that no one stole my card and I am able to get a new one. Sheesh!

Even though the banks are closed today you would think that tomorrow you could go to the bank and retrieve the card. But they have yo make you jump through hoops and send a brand new one.

I'd want a new card and a new password anyway....just in case someone somehow got your information. Stuff happens

I think we all have those moments sometimes. When I was living in Las Vegas I left my card in an ATM machine in the middle of a casino food court. I went rushing back 15 minutes later to find that the next person had simply put it on top of the machine. I don't even want to think what a mess I would have been in if a less honest person had been next in line. I'm a very habitual person, so I do things the same way every day, and if something outside of my routine happens it throws everything off. For example, I always keep my phone in the side pocket of my car and pick that up with my left hand and my keys up with my right when I get out. If I accidentally grab my phone or something else with my right hand though, I inevitably end up locking my keys in the car. I've done it at least a dozen times now.

Chances are the ATM ate your card - I think I remember the lady at the bank telling me that if the ATM card is left in the slot too long the machine will take it - check with the bank to see if they found your card in the machine. It is worth a try.

I checked with the bank on the phone that day and they told me that the ATM ate it, so I cancelled it and ordered a new card to be sent. 7-10 business days is the wait time. I leave for the show in 11 business days from Memorial Day, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it gets here in time.

The up side is that I figured out how to link my bank account with PayPal. I know it's pretty simple for the tech savvy to do, but I'm not super tech savvy. It really wasn't horribly difficult, even for me. lol So at least the last minute show shopping that I have to do isn't going to be held up by my screw up. I was really afraid that it might be.

I have to get Shake's show halter and accessories ordered tomorrow and quick shipped to me since I was picky and had to keep searching until I found the 'right' halter for him. I also found a suit which I pray fits me on ebay. I love Ann Taylor suits and I got this one for $0.99. plus $13.00 shipping (does that make me terribly cheap? lol) and I need to get that handled and shipped right away so it's here in time to have it altered and cleaned for the show. Thank God for making PayPal user friendly!
